Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series: New premium notebooks officially unveiled

Samsung presented three new models of the Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series at the Unpacked Event 2023, which combine an elegant and high-quality design with powerful components. The Galaxy Book3 Pro is supposed to be particularly thin, the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 relies on an S Pen functionality as a 2-in-1 convertible, and the Galaxy Book3 Ultra relies on the highest computing power – including NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 graphics.

Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series unveiled

With the new Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series, the manufacturer wants to appeal to a wide range of users and offers a total of three new notebooks for different application areas. It succeeds the Book 2 Pro series from last year.

They all rely on practical and well-thought-out software features and are naturally designed to work together in the Samsung ecosystem. Link to Windows / Microsoft Phone Link, including on-the-go productivity features, provide seamless phone-to-PC connectivity capabilities across the OS. Instant Hotspot, on the other hand, enables one-click wireless hotspot connectivity.

Thanks to Samsung Multi Control, the Galaxy Book3 series keyboard and trackpad can be used to control the notebook, Galaxy Tab and now the Galaxy smartphone. Copying and pasting text or files is even possible across devices via drag & drop.

Via Second Screen, the Galaxy Tab becomes a dual monitor, while Expert RAW automatically transfers images taken with the smartphone to the Galaxy Book3 for editing with professional photo editing programs.

A lot of power in the three devices

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra is the most powerful of the three notebooks and comes with a 13th generation Intel Core i9 processor, as well as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 graphics unit. Here, the RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Mobile is available.

There is also an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 hertz and a 3K resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels. The display is also VESA ClearMR and DisplayHDR TRUE BLACK 500 certified and has received the SGS Eye Care Display certification for blue light reduction.

The Galaxy Book3 Pro and Galaxy Book3 360 models also offer the same display. In addition, the three notebooks come with 8, 16 or 32 GB LPDDR5 working memory as well as a 512 GB or 1 TB SSD – only the convertible also comes with 256 GB system memory. On the CPU side, Intel’s Core i5 or i7 of the 13th generation are available, the Core i9 is only available in the Ultra model.

The Galaxy Book3 Pro also comes with a choice of a 14-inch or 16-inch display and is particularly thin at 11.3 mm (14-inch) and 12.5 mm (16-inch) respectively.

All three notebooks have Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1 mi on board. In addition, there are four speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Dual microphones supported by Intelligent Noise Cancelling pick up voices clearly and reduce background noise. Studio Mode also provides visuals for video calls with light correction, auto-framing, eye contact correction, and professional backgrounds.

The Galaxy Book3 Ultra comes with a 16-inch display in Graphite color. The Galaxy Book3 Pro will be available in Graphite color in 14 and 16 inches. The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 will come as a 16-inch model in Graphite and Beige colors, while the model with 5G connectivity will be offered in Graphite color.

Prices and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 series is scheduled to be available from February 17, 2023. Starting with the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Pro 360 models, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro starts at 1,699 euros (14-inch, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB, Intel Core i5) and costs 1,899 euros in the top configuration (15-inch, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB, Intel i7).

The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 starts at 1,799 Euros (16 inches, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB, Intel i5) and is also offered with 16 inches, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB, Intel i7 for 2,299 Euros. With 5G connectivity, the prices are 2,499 Euros and 2,699 Euros, respectively.

The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is optionally available with 16 or 32 GB RAM, 512 GB or 1 TB storage and Core i7 or i9. The price starts at 2,799 Euros, and the top model costs 3,699 Euros.
