Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series unveiled: New flagship notebooks

Samsung has introduced a new notebook series that is primarily focused on hybrid work. The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series marks the Koreans’ new flagship notebooks and comes with current 12th generation Intel Core processors.

Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series in detail

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series focuses on security and is the first the first notebook series from Samsung for private users that meets the requirements of Microsoft “Secured Core PCs”. These use hardware-based security components such as the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM) and advanced CPUs, along with virtualization-based security (VBS) and the Windows Hypervisor Code Integrity (HVCI) service to create a secure, hardware-isolated environment that effectively isolates memory and critical components

Microsoft’s “Secured-Core PC” certification requires an especially high level of protection under Windows 11 and deep integration into hardware, firmware and software to increase protection against potential cyberattacks.

The Galaxy Book2 Pro series is equipped with the latest 12th generation Intel Core processors, which realize high performance in business and gaming. They are supported by 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM, depending on the model.

With a battery life of up to 21 hours, the notebooks last comparably long. Charging the Book2 Pro devices is done using the included power adapter, while the 65-watt fast charger of the Galaxy Book2 Pro series can also power Samsung Galaxy mobile devices.

Display and Features

When it comes to the display, the series relies on an AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro has a brightness of 400 nits, the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 370 nits. Thanks to 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, the notebooks are also ideally equipped for wireless connections.

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 also comes with S Pen compatibility and is offered in 13.3-inch or 15.6-inch, just like the regular Book2 Pro. The Galaxy Book2 Pro series offers clear video transmission thanks to the new 1080p FHD webcams with a wider field of view. Studio mode has also been upgraded with a host of new features, including Auto Framing, which can keep the subject centered even as they move around in the frame. New background effects and the “Face Effect” remove visual distractions from the background while also enhancing the appearance if desired.

Audio playback on the Galaxy Book2 Pro series has also been improved to make calls sound better. The bidirectional AI noise reduction can remove distracting background noise so that words can be understood clearly. In addition, the Smart AMP with a maximum output power of 5 watts ensures a balanced sound, even at higher volumes. The Galaxy Book2 Pro series also supports AKG and Dolby Atmos sound technology.

Working with Galaxy smartphones

Compared to previous models, the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series offers a variety of enhancements that enable seamless interaction of the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem in daily life. The new “Galaxy Book Experience” helps familiarize with the handy Samsung Galaxy features and transfer content to the new device.

By signing in once with their Samsung account, users only need to enter their username and password once and have instant access to apps and content on the Samsung Galaxy device, including Samsung Gallery and Samsung Notes. Galaxy Buds pairing is also possible in the process.

Seamlessly, the migration process is now also done with Galaxy Book Smart Switch. It helps transfer data, photos, settings and more from old PCs to the new notebook regardless of manufacturer.

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro series will be available in stores from April 01, 2022. Offered will be the Book2 Pro and the Book2 Pro 360 in both 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch and that in the following versions:
