Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite Introduced

In the run-up to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, Samsung has presented per press release Lite models of the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, which, according to the South Korean company, “are designed to offer the high quality of the Galaxy S and Note series in terms of camera technology, display and battery”, but at a much lower price, in order to appeal to price-conscious customers.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and the Note 10 Lite feature an identical 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution and an in-display front camera with 32 megapixel resolution. In addition, both smartphones have a triple cam on the back, but their composition differs.

The Galaxy S10 Lite has a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), which operates in super-stable mode when recording video. A super wide-angle camera (12 megapixels) and a macro camera (5 megapixels) are also installed. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite, on the other hand, has a wide-angle camera with a significantly lower resolution of only 12 megapixels, which also offers an OIS but no super stable mode. The super wide-angle camera is identical to the Galaxy S10 Lite, the third camera has a telephoto lens (12 megapixels).

The two new Samsung smartphones also differ in the SoC. While the Galaxy S10 Lite uses a 7-nm eight-core processor (2.8 GHz turbo clock), the Note 10 Kute uses a 10-nm eight-core processor with up to 2.7 GHz turbo clock. With 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory, the Galaxy S10 Lite is also slightly superior to the Note 10 Lite, which has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory, in these points. The 4,500 mAh battery is identical, however.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite will cost 600 Euros in Germany, including the S Pen input pen, and 650 Euros for the Galaxy S10 Lite.
