Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 FE. The Fan Edition features an Exynos 2500 chip, a 6.7-inch 120-Hz display, and a redesigned triple-camera system, but it will be noticeably more expensive than its predecessor: Prices start at 799 euros for the 128-GB model. It goes on sale September 4, 2026.

Many details had already been leaked beforehand, including a leak containing the complete spec sheet, which accurately predicted the technical specifications almost exactly. The significant price increase compared to the Galaxy S25 FE was also already a topic of discussion before Samsung confirmed it itself on August 27, 2026.

Key Points at a Glance

  • Unveiled on August 27, 2026; available on September 4, 2026
  • Exynos 2500, 8 GB RAM, choice of 128, 256, or 512 GB storage
  • 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 120 Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution
  • Triple camera with a 50-MP main sensor, 3x optical zoom, and new “My FanCam” feature
  • 4,900 mAh battery, One UI 9 with Galaxy AI
  • Prices: 799 euros (128 GB), 899 euros (256 GB), 1,099 euros (512 GB)

Design, Display, and Colors

Little has changed in terms of design: The Galaxy S26 FE continues to feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and FHD+ resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). This results in a pixel density of around 385 ppi, noticeably lower than the 513 ppi of the Galaxy S26+. As for the body, Samsung lists dimensions of 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4 mm and a weight of 193 grams, along with IP68 protection. Three new colors are available: Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio.

Camera and Galaxy AI: What’s Inside?

Samsung has stepped up its game with the camera. The triple-camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front is a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. New features include “My FanCam,” which automatically tracks people in videos and stabilizes the footage afterward, as well as a revamped photo assistant and improved Nightography features for low-light photography.

On the software side, the device runs on One UI 9 and includes the familiar Galaxy AI features: Now Brief and Now Nudge provide context-aware suggestions, and Circle to Search remains available. Exynos 2500, Battery, and Charging Time

Under the hood is a Samsung Exynos 2500 with deca-core architecture and clock speeds of up to 3.3 GHz, combined with 8 GB of RAM. This is the same chip found in the standard Galaxy S26, while the S26+ features the newer Exynos 2600 with 12 GB of RAM. The battery has a capacity of 4,900 mAh and can be charged to 69 percent in about 30 minutes using an optional 45-watt adapter.

Prices, Release Date, and Pre-Order Promotions

The Galaxy S26 FE will be available starting at 799 euros for the 128 GB model, 899 euros for the 256 GB model, and 1,099 euros for the 512 GB model. It goes on sale September 4, 2026, in select markets. Those who act fast can take advantage of an 80-euro instant discount starting August 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. In addition, there’s a trade-in bonus of 50 euros plus up to 590 euros in residual value for the old device, as well as a 30 percent discount on accessories when purchased as part of a bundle. New customers also receive six months of Google AI Pro, including 5 TB of cloud storage.

Samsung’s Jay Kim, Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics, explains the positioning as follows: “The Galaxy S26 FE was specifically designed to deliver the signature strengths of the Galaxy S series while ensuring that every feature adds tangible value to users’ everyday lives.”

Is the Galaxy S26 FE worth it? A look at the price

This is where it gets interesting, because the 799 euros price tag isn’t a sure thing. It’s important to note that the Galaxy S26+ is already available on the open market for around 730 euros—with 12 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB, a sharper display with 513 ppi instead of 385 ppi, and the newer Exynos 2600. So for 899 euros, the S26 FE offers less hardware than the current market price of the larger model.

That’s unusual for a series that was originally intended as a more affordable entry point into the Galaxy S world. If you don’t absolutely need the new camera software or the three new colors, you should compare prices with the Galaxy S26 and S26+ before buying—especially since their street prices have dropped in the meantime.

Conclusion

The Galaxy S26 FE features a faster charging system, a revamped camera, and the latest software, but its higher price means it loses part of its original advantage: the best value for money in the Galaxy S family. Whether the extra cost is worth it depends heavily on how much the retail prices of the S26 and S26+ drop in the coming weeks.
