Samsung recently unveiled two new Galaxy models that are likely to attract attention mainly due to their pricing: Both models are said to cost less than 200 Euros, making them significantly cheaper than other Galaxy smartphones.
Common features of the devices
The two new smartphones, named Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s, look very similar and have similar features. Both models have a 5,000 mAh battery that is supposed to provide a lot of endurance. Samsung promises that streaming series with the new battery is no problem on the go. However, the company does not provide any figures. The battery is also supposed to convince with a fast charging function. The two new smartphones also have a 6.5-inch HD+ display in common, which offers a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels.
Differences in hardware
However, differences can be found when looking at the hardware. Here, it quickly becomes apparent that the Galaxy A12 is the more powerful device. For example, it is equipped with a Helio P35 processor from Mediatek as well as four GB of working memory and has four cameras with 48 megapixels in a main module.
The Galaxy A02s, on the other hand, is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450, has three GB of RAM, and only brings three cameras that offer a resolution of thirteen megapixels.
The internal storage also differs: while the Galaxy A12 has 64 GB, the Galaxy A02s only holds 32 GB. However, both smartphones have a microSD slot that can accommodate cards with a storage capacity of up to one TB.
Prices and availability
The Galaxy A12 is expected to be available here in January in black and in white for 179 euros. The Galaxy A02s is to be launched in the spring exclusively in a black version and will cost 150 Euros.
