A 165 Hz IPS display with a WQHF resolution and a size of 32 inches is currently very popular, and Corsair also uses exactly these values for its new XENEON 32QHD165. Now Samsung is also jumping on the bandwagon with the new Odyssey G5 S32AG52.
The resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels including a frame rate of 165 Hz ensures a razor-sharp picture in current games. The response time of 1 ms (gray to gray) is also very low, but Samsung does not reveal the Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT).
Interested users will have to do without an overclocking function or RGB lighting. In return, a simulated color depth of 10 bits (8 bits + FRC) is used and a DisplayHDR 400 certification is achieved. AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync are also supported.
Interesting for gamers: Samsung offers a special Low Input Lag Mode and a Black Equalizer in the Odyssey G5 S32AG52. In addition, the Ultrawide Game View, already known from the manufacturer’s TVs, is donated to change the aspect ratio from 16:9 to the ultra-wide 21:9 format.
In terms of port diversity, the Samsung Odyssey G5 S32AG52 doesn’t come up with too many variants. Only a DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.0 port and a headphone jack are available. USB ports are completely omitted.
In return, there are no restrictions in terms of ergonomics. Samsung the stand is adjustable in height and tilt and offers a swivel (horizontal swiveling), as well as pivot function (vertical swiveling).
