Just in time for the start of the 2025 gardening season, Segway has released a major firmware update for its Navimow i-series cordless robotic mowers. This update adds numerous new features to the popular devices, making lawn care even more efficient and user-friendly.
Key new features:
- Weather-adaptive function: automatic adaptation of mowing behavior to current weather conditions such as rain, snow or high temperatures.
- Improved traction control: Optimized stability and mobility on difficult terrain thanks to advanced traction control.
- Enhanced edge mowing function: More precise mowing along lawn edges and around obstacles.
- “Drawing” function: Enables the creation of patterns or messages in the lawn.
Weather adaptive function
The new “Weather Adaptive” function enables the Navimow to automatically adapt its mowing behavior to changing weather conditions. In the event of rain, snow, frost, strong winds or high temperatures, the robotic lawnmower can interrupt the mowing process or postpone planned tasks until the weather situation has improved. This not only protects the lawn, but also extends the service life of the device.
Improved traction control
Thanks to an advanced traction control system originally developed for cars, the Navimow can now also operate reliably on wet and muddy terrain as well as on complex surfaces such as garden lights integrated into the lawn or retractable sprinklers. This technology ensures smooth operation without the mower getting stuck or damaging the lawn.
Extended edge mowing function
The new edge mowing function enables the Navimow to mow even more precisely along lawn edges and around marked barrier islands. This ensures an even and aesthetically pleasing mowing result without leaving unwanted lawn edges.
“Drawing” function
With the innovative “Drawing” function, users can let their creativity run wild by creating short messages, small pictures or designs that the Navimow then mows into the lawn. This function offers a unique opportunity to customize the garden and add personal touches.
Improved safety
The Navimow’s security functions have also been optimized. Enhanced theft protection with new alarm types is triggered when the lawn mower is lifted. A child safety lock has also been implemented to prevent interference from children or pets during operation or standby mode.
Update of the Navimow app
In addition to the firmware update for the robotic lawnmowers, the Segway Navimow app has also been updated to improve its functionality and add new features for all Navimow mowers. The robotic mowers now support Google Assistant, allowing them to be controlled via voice commands, interact with other devices and provide audio feedback on their status via Google Home speakers. In addition, it is now possible to manage and rename multiple Navimow devices within the app, making it easier to coordinate the operation of multiple mowers.
The firmware update 3.0 for the Navimow i-Series and the Navimow app version 3.0 are now available for free download. The new Navimow X3 premium robotic mower range from Segway, which is designed for areas up to 10,000 square meters, will already be equipped with the new firmware version as standard when it is launched in spring 2025.
