Lawn care is getting smarter: Segway is expanding its Navimow series with the new H models, which do not require a perimeter wire and are equipped with advanced sensor technology. These robotic mowers promise precise and efficient lawn care for areas of up to 3,000 m².
The most important facts in brief
- Perimeter wire-free navigation: Thanks to satellite navigation, the Navimow H models mow the lawn in structured paths without the need for a perimeter wire.
- Flexibly adjustable cutting height: The cutting height can be adjusted between 30 and 60 millimeters to meet different lawn requirements.
- Coping with slopes: The robotic mowers are able to cope with slopes of up to 45 percent, making them suitable for challenging terrain.
- Optional sensors: Depending on the model, the devices are equipped with ultrasonic sensors or the VisionFence camera, which can detect and avoid obstacles.
Precise navigation without boundary wire
In our test series, we were already able to put one of the manufacturer’s robotic mowers through its paces with the Segway Navimow i105E (Review | € 989.00 *). Now, with the H series, further garden robots from the manufacturer are coming onto the market. The new Segway Navimow H models use advanced satellite navigation to mow the lawn in an orderly fashion.
The big advantage: you don’t have to lay any boundary wires, which experience has shown makes for more convenient set-up. According to the manufacturer, the precision of this navigation is one to two centimetres. However, a clear line of sight to the sky is required for optimum function. In addition, connecting paths between different mowing areas should be at least one meter wide to ensure smooth navigation.
Adaptable cutting height and climbing ability
With an adjustable cutting height of 30 to 60 millimetres, the Navimow H models offer flexibility for different lawn types and preferences. In addition, these robotic mowers can cope with slopes of up to 45 percent, making them particularly suitable for hilly or uneven gardens.
Intelligent obstacle detection
Depending on the model variant, the robotic lawnmowers are equipped with either ultrasonic sensors or the VisionFence camera. The VisionFence camera enables the device to detect objects within a radius of 1.5 meters.
The prerequisite is that they are at least 10 centimeters high – typical examples of this are trees or larger garden furniture. These obstacles are detected and avoided by the robotic lawnmower, ensuring efficient and safe mowing.
Models and prices
The Segway Navimow H series comprises various models that differ in terms of the maximum mowing area and the available sensor technology.
- H300E: Suitable for lawns up to 300 square meters.
- H800E: Designed for areas up to 800 square meters.
- H3000E: Designed for larger gardens up to 3,000 square meters.
