Sennheiser CX Plus SE True Wireless: in-ear headphones come in new design

The CX Plus True Wireless headphones were convincing in our test. Now the manufacturer is reissuing the in-ear headphones as Sennheiser CX Plus SE True Wireless with a fresh design as a “Special Design Edition”.

The new Sennheiser CX Plus SE True Wireless impress with a brushed matte finish and new look. Purely technically nothing changes to the already known CX Plus, but that is not even necessary.

The specially developed TrueResponse driver ensures a brilliant sound. Specially developed for Sennheiser premium earphones and manufactured in Germany, the acoustic system delivers high-fidelity stereo sound with rich bass, natural mids and clear, detailed highs. Of course, an ANC function including a transparency mode is not to be missed, which can be tuned via the companion app.

The Sennheiser CX Plus SE True Wireless is easy to use thanks to the customizable touch interface: Touch commands can be customized and audio, call, and voice assistant controls can be adjusted to your preferences. The earbuds are each equipped with two microphones that provide crystal-clear voice pickup for calls and access to voice assistants. Single use (mono mode) of both earphones is also possible.

Long runtime, new look

The CX Plus SE True Wireless is IPX4 splash-proof for added safety. In terms of battery life, eight hours is said to be offered for the Earbuds, as well as a total of 24 hours when combined with the charging lei.

The design of the TWS in-ears remains the same as in the case of the CX Plus, which, however, could already score with a high wearing comfort in the test. What’s new is the brushed, matte finish on the outside. The shape of the charging case has also been improved in detail.

Price and availability

The True Wireless headphones Sennheiser CX Plus SE True Wireless are available from 01 April 2022 for an RRP of 179.90 euros in stores. The in-ears will only be available in black. The normal Sennheiser CX Plus are currently on sale for 125.99 euros.
