With the new Sennheiser IE 200, the manufacturer has introduced an audiophile wired in-ear headphone that aims to score with exceptional depth, crystal-clear sound and a range of intuitive features.
The Sennheiser IE 200 in detail
After the Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus, which is supposed to provide better speech intelligibility, the Sennheiser IE 200 focuses on audiophile high-fidelity sound. The in-ear headphones achieve this via a cable, so they are not a true-wireless model.
It is primarily aimed at music lovers and is supposed to realize a balanced and highly precise sound. It is based on the manufacturer’s TrueResponse transducer technology with 7-millimeter drivers and is supposed to offer hardly any acoustic distortions, but a natural frequency response instead. The frequency response is 6 Hz to 20,000 Hz and that’s with an impedance of 18 ohms.
In addition, the IE 200 can adjust to a variety of different listening preferences thanks to its unique dual-tuning feature. The included earbuds can be placed in two different positions, which are said to have an impact on the sound, bass and treble.
High wearing comfort
In addition, the manufacturer promises a particularly high wearing comfort for the Sennheiser IE 200, where the sleek housing should adapt to the shape of the ear and score with an ergonomic design.
For this purpose, foam or silicone earpieces in various sizes are optionally available, which filter out disturbing ambient noise – an ANC function, i.e. active noise cancellation, is not available, however.
The fine, braided cable reduces further noise and offers a 3.5 mm stereo plug as well as MMCX connectors for connecting to audiophile playback devices. Just 4 grams is the weight of the IE 200.
Price and Availability
The Sennheiser IE 200 in-ear headphones will be available for pre-order worldwide on January 17, 2023, and should be available on January 31. The manufacturer’s MSRP is €149.90. Further details are provided by the official website.
