Sennheiser presents new Ambeo Plus soundbar

A new soundbar is coming from Sennheiser. The manufacturer is unfortunately not directly represented at the IFA, but used the event to invite journalists in Berlin to the product launch.

Dolby Atmos and automatic room calibration

Sennheiser wants to provide impressive surround sound with 360 Reality, DTS:X and Dolby Atmos. The manufacturer provides the appropriate hardware for its Sennheiser Ambeo Plus with a 7.1.4-channel design. Besides two woofers, which are supposed to manage down to 37 Hz, the seven drivers also provide a lot of power. If the bass isn’t enough, the separately available Ambeo subwoofer can be used to bring even more bass into the house – up to four can be connected wirelessly or with a cable.

The software seems to be just right, too. Especially friends of streaming services can enjoy contemporary features. Besides Spotify Connect, the rather rarely used streaming service TIDAL is also supported with TIDAL Connect. Of course, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast are not missing. Voice control via the well-known Google, Alexa and Siri is also available. There seems to be a lot of competition for the other soundbars at this year’s IFA. For example, JBL has presented four new soundbars these days.

Price and availability

Not so pleasing is the price, which is 1500 euros, but it is quite justified given the features of the Sennheiser Ambeo Plus soundbar. The new soundbar can be pre-ordered from September 1 and will be available from September 22. The Ambeo Sub is priced at 699 euros.
