The successor to the popular Sennheiser Momentum series is now available on the German market. The sound expert has improved its premium in-ears even further. Among other things, the user now has noise suppression at his disposal.
New competition for AirPods Pro
The most interesting new feature of the new Momentum True Wireless 2 is certainly the noise reduction. The latest Sennheiser in-ears obviously compete with Apple’s AirPods Pro. In addition to noise reduction, Sennheiser is giving its new Premium In-Ears a much longer battery life. The Momentum True Wireless 2, for example, now offers an impressive seven hours of battery life instead of the previous four hours. Despite the larger battery size, the new in-ears are even smaller than their predecessor.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) function
Sennheiser relies on two microphones built into the headphones for active noise suppression. These pick up ambient noise and provide a corresponding counter-noise. This neutralises the noise and shields the listener from external noise. However, if the wearer wants to hear certain ambient noises, this is also possible. For example, the Momentum True Wireless 2 offers the possibility of selectively fading in ambient noise. This makes it possible, for example, to conduct personal conversations without having to remove the in-ears. .
Stable wireless connection thanks to Bluetooth 5.1
Sennheiser has added the reliable Bluetooth standard 5.1 to its new Momentum True Wireless 2. Compared with its predecessor, which “only” offered Bluetooth 5.0, the connection between the source device and the headphones is likely to be even more stable. For a corresponding listening pleasure, the proven codecs of the first generation will be used. For example, the Momentum True Wireless 2 uses AAC and the aptXTM codec from Qualcomm. Sennheiser is using drivers with a size of 7 mm. for the new in-ears.
Additional features
Thanks to the Smart Control App from Sennheiser, the sound of the new Momentum True Wireless 2 can be individually adjusted. This is made possible by an equalizer. The app also allows the listener to define special gestures. This can be used, for example, to adjust the volume or control apps. As is typical for True Wireless in-ears, the new Sennheiser headphones also come with a practical charging box.
Here the two small in-ears can not only be stored but also charged at the same time. According to Sennheiser, the battery capacity is sufficient for three complete charges of the headphones. Fortunately, Sennheiser has opted for a USB-C connection for the charging box. Fortunately, the new Momentum True Wireless is also suitable for sports. After all, Sennheiser ensures IPX4 certification. This ensures protection against splash water.
Price and availability
Anyone who is interested in premium headphones from Sennheiser has to pay a proud price. For example, the new headphones from Sennheiser are available at an RRP of 300 Euro. This means that Sennheiser is even charging a much higher price for the new Momentum True Wireless 2 than Apple does for the AirPods Pro (approx. 270 euros).
