Sennheiser is launching a new pair of headphones. The Sennheiser RS 120-W are special on-ears designed to be used while watching TV.
Loud TV without annoying neighbors
It makes perfect sense to get headphones specifically for watching TV. In particular, people who live in a very bright apartment, can protect themselves in this way from angry neighbors. But some people may even be dependent on headphones because of hearing loss. Regardless of the cause, Sennheiser seems to have the right solution. The Sennheiser RS 120-W TV headphones come in an on-ear design and promise to offer an immersive TV experience thanks to low latency. The low latency is mainly due to the LC3 technology.
The audio codec is enabled by a Bluetooth connection, which features low power consumption. Connoisseurs of the Sennheiser lineup may feel reminded of the TV Clear in-ear headphones. The traditional German company also has these on offer. Thanks to a practical charging station, you should not have to worry about an empty battery with the Sennheiser RS 120-W. After all, it charges the headphones whenever you’re not using them. A battery life of a whopping 20 hours should probably be completely sufficient for the vast majority.
Charging station with multiple functions
But the charging station should not only supply the battery of the TV headphones with fresh energy. On top of that, it serves as a transmitter that forwards the signal from the TV to the headphones. You should never have a problem with signal interruptions in normal-sized apartments. After all, the range is supposed to be a respectable 60 meters according to Sennheiser.
If your roommates or partner also have hearing problems, or if you just want to spare your neighbor’s nerves together, you can probably listen in parallel. The transmitter is supposed to be able to send its signal to several headphones at once. Depending on which program is on TV or Netflix and the like, audio adjustments can of course be made. In addition to the standard mode “normal sound”, there is also “music” or “speech”.
Sennheiser RS 120-W price and availability
Anyone interested in the Sennheiser RS 120-W will not have to wait much longer. As early as August 30 this year, the TV headphones are set to launch. The company wants to call an MSRP of 129.90 euros in the process. If you’re a Sennheiser fan, but you’re more into over-ear headphones and hi-fi sound, then the recently announced Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless might be something for you.
