Sharkoon B2 and RUSH ER40: New gaming headsets unveiled

Sharkoon Technologies expands its audio range with two products with different focuses. The eye-catching RUSH ER40 USB headset is aimed at style-conscious gamers with its RGB lighting with 3D effect. The Sharkoon B2, on the other hand, focuses on a discreet black look, offers a detachable microphone and can also be used as pure headphones at home or on the go thanks to modular cables. For sound and comfort, both headsets rely on powerful 50-millimeter drivers and breathable fabric cushions.

Stylish and powerful: B2

As the successor to the B1 headset, the Sharkoon B2 also relies on a stylish all-black design. Combined with the detachable microphone, the B2 can also be used as headphones in just a few seconds. Thanks to the 110-centimeter cable with TRRS connector, it can also be used on mobile devices. Additional connection options for USB and jack with a total length of 250 centimeters are also available.

According to the manufacturer, the soft fabric surface of the breathable ear pads is designed for a comfortable wearing experience. In addition, movable ear cups and the headband, which is bound in faux leather, also adjust to the shape of the head.

Bulky Sound

A 50-millimeter driver is once again used for the appropriate sound. If the B2 is operated via USB, a hardware equalizer with three modes is available on the inline controller in addition to the usual controls such as microphone mute and volume control.

The sound card of the inline controller has a sampling rate of 96 kilohertz and a bit depth of 24 bits. The B2’s microphone comes with pop protection, filtering plosive sounds for clear speech transmission. It can also be easily detached when needed.

Further adjustments to the sound image can be made via the downloadable software using a 10-band equalizer. The virtual 7.1 sound can also be adjusted as desired via the software.

Sharkoon RUSH ER40

Visually and technically, the ER40 skillfully joins the popular RUSH series and is thus designed for gaming all around. Beyond the discreet, rounded design, however, Sharkoon is focusing for the first time on an eye-catcher with slightly plastic 3D effect in the form of RGB lighting, which can also be operated in two different modes. An adjustable headband and movable ear cups are designed to provide comfortable wear even after extensive gaming sessions.

The RUSH ER40 features a 50-millimeter driver for a balanced sound. The volume can be adjusted and the microphone muted on the inline controller. The virtual 7.1 sound can be activated via the software and fine adjustments can be made to the sound via a 10-band equalizer.

The microphone’s clear voice transmission is complemented by an included pop shield that efficiently filters out plosive sounds from speech. The cable is made of flexible TPE, which does not tangle easily and is also better protected against cable breakage. It is 240 centimeters long and has a USB port.

Price and Availability

The Sharkoon RUSH ER40 is available now for a suggested retail price of $31.90. The Sharkoon B2 is alsoavailable now. The recommended retail price here is 49.90 euros.
