Sharkoon Light² 180: New rodent lightweight for gamers

The small animal experts from Sharkoon have introduced a new lightweight for fans of featherweight gaming mice. However, the manufacturer of gaming peripherals does not only want to score points with the mouse’s low weight. On top of that, it is supposed to convince with a high operating comfort, a strong sensor and a great design. We take a look at the newcomer.

High operating comfort

The high level of comfort when controlling the mouse is said to be mainly due to the extremely low weight of just 63 grams. The symmetrical design, which is supposed to ensure that you always have a good grip on the mouse, is also beneficial. The special honeycomb structure should not only save weight, but also provide a good grip.

As we already know from the predecessor, you can also exchange the top shell here. You have the choice between an even lighter honeycomb shell or a closed shell. The latter adds a few extra grams, but might be visually more appealing to some. The dimensions also make for a handy handling. Thus, the small rodent measures just 120 mm x 63.5 mm x 39 mm.

Maximum precision

But according to Sharkoon, the low weight should by no means come at the expense of the integrated technology. Thus, the peripheral experts install the powerful PixArt-PMW3360 here. The optical sensor is supposed to be able to act with high precision thanks to a resolution of up to 12,000 DPI. Sharkoon’s optional software can be used for individual DPI settings. The resolution can be adjusted in seven different levels. To switch between the levels, you simply use the handy select button, which is located directly on the mouse.

Fast-as-lightning maneuvers

Once again, Sharkoon relies on high-quality feet, which are made of 100 percent PTFE. This is supposed to allow the little rodent to dash across any surface at lightning speed. So that no annoying cable gets in the way during the fast maneuvers, Sharkoon gives the mouse a cable with a sheath made of high-quality textile. This is not only supposed to provide high resistance, but also prevent annoying tangles.

Of course, RGB should not be missing from the lightweight. For this reason, Sharkoon has installed a chic light strip that adorns the lower end of the mouse. The mouse wheel also comes with a pretty illumination. If you opt for the honeycomb shell, you can also see the Sharkoon logo inside the mouse. Thanks to the matching software, you can also make individual settings here.

Longevity due to high-quality switches

Of course, the experts at Sharkoon also know that gaming mice have to withstand quite a bit. Accordingly, they also rely on high-quality and durable switches for the latest Lightweight. There are a total of six buttons on the Light² 180, which can also be configured to your liking via the software. Sharkoon does not compromise on the two mouse buttons either. Switches from the renowned manufacturer Omron are used here. These are supposed to be able to withstand more than 20 million clicks.

Price and availability

The new mouse from Sharkoon is optionally available in black or white. With an MSRP of 39.99 euros, Sharkoon is launching its new Light² 180 at a very fair price. Friends of light gaming mice should definitely take a look at the compact nager.
