Sharkoon SKILLER SGK3 White: New gaming keyboard

With the SKILLER SGK3 White model, Sharkoon has introduced a new gaming keyboard in three-block format, which is not only supposed to convince technically, but also and especially visually.

Attention-grabbing design

The eye-catching design of the SKILLER SGK3 White differs noticeably from that of most other gaming keyboards and – as the name of the device already suggests – relies primarily on white components. Thus, both the base plate of the keyboard and all keys are kept white. However, the color scheme is not purely an end in itself, but also serves to make the RGB lighting stand out in a special way: Sharkoon points out that the keyboard’s white reflects the colors of the lighting elements inside the keyboard particularly well and thus creates a unique effect. Both with and without the use of the manufacturer’s software, users of the keyboard have numerous lighting options and effects at their disposal.

Included with the keyboard is a set of PBT keycaps, which can be used to easily highlight the most frequently used keys. The PBT keycaps are durable and robust. According to Sharkoon, they should not obstruct the illumination.

Kailh Switches

Kailh switches are used, of which keyboard users can choose from three variants. This is to ensure that the SKILLER SGK3 White can meet different needs in practice. The red Kailh switches are linear and feedback-less, which makes them particularly suitable for gaming, where quick releases without clicking noises are often desired. The brown switches, on the other hand, are tactile but, like the red ones, do not emit any clicking sounds. They are primarily aimed at people who want to use the keyboard primarily for typing, but should also be suitable for occasional gaming use. The blue switches are tactile and produce clicking noises. They are primarily aimed at frequent typists. All three switch types trigger after 1.9 millimeters and require a release force of 50 grams.

The different characteristics of the various switches, as well as the robust and application-open design of the keyboard, make it clear that Sharkoon doesn’t want to exclusively address gamers, but also has the target group of frequent typists in mind. The keyboard is supposed to survive for a long time, which is also achieved by a metal reinforcement of the surface.

Adjustments of the keyboard to individual needs are possible via the manufacturer’s software, which can be obtained for free. In addition to setting the light effects, macros can also be assigned there, for example.

The Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 White is available now for 69.99 Euros.
