Sharkoon TK5M RGB: Midi tower at a fair price now available

With the TK5M RGB, Sharkoon has launched a new midi tower that convinces at first glance. Despite a comparatively low price, it offers attractive features. Premium features like mesh, RGB and modern USB ports meet a lot of space for fans. However, one drop of bitterness has to be accepted. The case is a bit stingy when it comes to space for cooling solutions.

A classic midi tower with a lot of features

Sharkoon does not really reinvent the wheel with its TK5M RGB. Rather, it becomes clear at first glance that this is a classic compact ATX case. However, what is not immediately apparent is the fair price. Features include a mesh front, four pre-installed 120 mm fans and USB-C 3.2 Gen2.

The fans in particular are also said to provide efficient airflow in the case. According to Sharkoon, the combination of air-permeable mesh on the front and the four RGB fans always promise fresh air for the hardware components inside. If the four fans are not enough, two more 120 mm fans or alternatively two 140 mm fans are to be mounted on the top.

Modern and practical design

We really like the design from the first pictures. Finally, Sharkoon is now also focusing on more curves, which gives the case a softer look. In times when the gaming PC can also be used as a work machine in the home office, this is a visual boon. Speaking of the home office. The TK5M also qualifies as a work computer due to its many connections.

Peripherals or external data carriers can comfortably find space in the three USB ports, which are located on the top. Here, Sharkoon promises transfer speeds of up to 10 GB/s. In order to allow views of chic RGB hardware inside, Sharkoon also installs a side panel made of tempered glass.

The manufacturer promises that the TK5M should be able to accommodate larger components despite its compact dimensions. Thus, according to Sharkoon, the GPU may be a maximum of 31 cm long. If you decide to remove the fan at the front, you can even fit 33 cm. The power supply in turn can be a maximum of 17.5 cm long. However, the maximum size for CPU coolers will make you wonder.

At 15.7 cm, this is in fact severely limited. In view of the fact that many cooler manufacturers rely on a measurement of 16 cm, you definitely have to keep this in mind. Otherwise, there is a serious space problem. The space for drives is spacious. Besides two 3.5-inch hard drives, you should also be able to fit up to five SSDs in the case.

Price and availability

Those who can live with the limited space for CPU coolers should get a real bargain with the Sharkoon TK5M RGB. An MSRP of 69.90 euros at least sounds exceedingly fair. More information about the case can be found on the official website of Sharkoon.
