Shokz OpenRun Mini unveiled: Bone sound headphones get smaller

The Shokz OpenRun Mini is a new, smaller version of the sports headphones with bone-sound technology. This is the manufacturer’s response to fans’ requests for a smaller headband. In our Shokz OpenRun Pro review, the large distance between the temple and the head was also noticeable.

Shokz OpenRun Mini in detail

The Shokz OpenRun Mini, like the other models from the manufacturer formerly known as AfterShokz, is aimed primarily at athletes and amateur athletes. The new Mini model is a new edition of the classic, in which the headband has shrunk by a whole 2.1 centimeters.

The Pro model was also convincing in terms of wearing comfort during sports, but the wide headband was a problem. The new Mini now remedies this. The shorter temple provides a new option with the same technical features, which fits tighter at the back of the head and thus increases the comfort during training again.

The new model also relies on the innovative bone-sound technology, thanks to which the music or audio content is transmitted through the cheekbones. Nothing sits on or in the ear, which provides additional comfort and more security. Even the German Athletics Association (DLV) is convinced of the Shokz headphones.

Bluetooth 5.1 and IP67 certification

Technically, the Shokz OpenRun Mini relies on Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless content transmission. PremiumPitch 2.0+ technology is said to provide rich bass and strong stereo sound. However, it is better not to compare them with classic in-ear headphones. In return, there are really good quality microphones for phone calls and video calls.

Its up to 8-hour battery life including quick-charge function ensures that the Bluetooth 5.1 headphones do not run out of breath even during long training sessions. In addition, the Mini charges particularly quickly and can be refueled for 1.5 hours of playback in just 10 minutes on the mains. In addition, there is an IP67 certification, thanks to which rain, sweat as well as dust can not harm the headphones.

Price and Availability

The Shokz OpenRun Mini is available now from retailers, online retailers and the manufacturer’s store. The MSRP of Shokz is 139.95 euros.
