Shokz OpenSwim: bone sound headphones for swimming presented

Shokz is bringing its bone-sound headphones to the cool water as of now, and thus just in time for the summer. With the Shokz OpenSwim, the manufacturer has introduced a new model that is primarily aimed at all swimmers. Thanks to IP68 certification, the headphones are completely waterproof.

The Shokz OpenSwim in detail

After OpenRun Pro (our review) and the smaller mini offshoot, the new Shokz OpenSwim is aimed primarily at anyone who wants to use their sports headphones while swimming. Thanks to the patented bone sound technology (PremiumPitch 2.0), you can enjoy your music even in the water and at the same time still perceive everything from your surroundings.

Unlike other headphones, the OpenSwim transports sound through your cheekbones, leaving your ears free for more important things.

Thanks to IP68 certification, you can continue to use the headphones comfortably while swimming and even diving at depths of up to two meters.

With integrated MP3 player

However, since there are limits to the Bluetooth standard in water, the Bone Sound headphones rely on a built-in MP3 player in this case. This ensures that even at a great distance from the smartphone can always enjoy your music.

After all, the phone doesn’t come with you to the pool, the sea or the swimming pool. Up to 1,200 songs should fit on it, while the battery lasts for 8 hours. The advantage for athletes is supposed to be that you can now continue listening to your motivational playlist even while swimming.

Thanks to the titanium earpiece and ergonomic shape, the headphones always hold tightly to the head and sit comfortably without slipping. The wearing comfort could already convince us with the OpenRun Pro, after we first got used to it. The manufacturer will also show the Shokz OpenSwim at the er Berlin Marathon Expo from 22.09. to 24.09.2022.

Price and Availability

The Shokz OpenSwim with bone-sound technology is available now from retailers, as well as online retailers and the manufacturer’s store. The RRP is 159.95 euros.
