At an exclusive media event held during Intersolar Europe 2026, Sigenergy unveiled the SigenMate 2700 Ultra —a plug-and-play energy storage system for balcony power plants that stands out primarily for its AI-powered energy management, four MPPT inputs supporting up to 4,000 watts of solar power, and up to 3,600 watts of output power. Sigenergy enters the balcony storage segment with the SigenMate 2700 Ultra

Sigenergy has so far been known primarily for larger home and commercial storage systems such as SigenStor and SigenStack. Founded in Shanghai in 2022 by former Huawei and BYD managers, the manufacturer has quickly developed into a globally active provider in the renewable energy sector. With the SigenMate 2700 Ultra, the company is now specifically expanding its portfolio downward—toward compact solutions for small and medium-sized households.

Shirley Wang, General Manager of Global Consumer Business at Sigenergy, summarized the strategy at the launch event: The system is designed to make energy storage for private households easier to install, expand, and use. About 40 media representatives were able to experience the device in live demonstrations at the trade show booth.

4,000 watts of solar power via four MPPT trackers

When it comes to PV input, the SigenMate 2700 Ultra goes all out: Four MPPT inputs can handle a total of up to 4,000 watts, allowing for the connection of up to eight solar modules. Four independent trackers are a real advantage in practice because partially shaded or differently oriented string of modules do not slow each other down. According to the manufacturer, the system is fully compatible with all common plug-and-play microinverters.

Four MPPT channels for up to 4,000 watts of solar power—this is now the top tier for balcony storage systems and matches exactly the performance level offered by the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 Pro. Anyone retrofitting an existing balcony solar system via AC will find ample headroom here for future module expansions.

Up to 3,600 watts of output—also as emergency power

Sigenergy really stands out when it comes to output. Via two AC outputs, the SigenMate 2700 Ultra delivers up to 3,600 watts in grid mode—according to the manufacturer, significantly above the industry average and enough to power multiple household appliances simultaneously. In backup mode, up to 3,600 watts of emergency power is also available, and up to three devices can be connected in parallel.

An important note for use in Germany: The 800-watt feed-in limit still applies to balcony power plants, which can be registered without the assistance of a licensed electrician. The higher output ratings are intended for backup scenarios and larger configurations.

Modular Capacity: 2.68 to 18 kWh

The base unit incorporates a 2.68-kWh LiFePO4 battery. Those who need more storage can stack additional 2.68-kWh modules, reaching up to 18 kWh per tower according to Sigenergy—enough even for larger households. The modular design follows the current market trend: start small and upgrade as needed. For outdoor use, the device features a built-in heating function to ensure the battery operates reliably even in cold weather.

AI Energy Management and mySigen App 4.0

The real standout feature is the control system. The “Sigen AI Mode” in the mySigen app continuously analyzes consumption patterns, forecasts energy demand, and automatically decides when to store, use, or feed electricity back into the grid. For this to work, the system requires real-time data from a smart meter—in addition to Sigenergy’s own smart meter, the widely used Shelly Pro 3EM is also compatible.

At the same time, Sigenergy unveiled the update to the mySigen App 4.0, which introduces over ten new features. These include 48-hour AI forecasts for all operating modes, a “Sigen AI Assistant” based on SigenAgent for device control and fault diagnosis, natural language AI search, and an immersive 3D energy flow visualization. The “Local Connection” feature allows monitoring and control even without an internet connection. In the future, energy management via the open SigenAgent ecosystem will even be able to integrate with third-party platforms such as WhatsApp. AI in energy management is already a major trade show topic in 2026—similar approaches are being pursued, for example, by the Conow CBE2000 Pro with its AI HEMS.

Safety: IP66 and a Six-Level Protection Concept

When it comes to safety, Sigenergy employs a multi-level concept. With an IP66 protection rating, the system is designed for both indoor and outdoor use and is protected against dust and powerful water jets. In addition, a six-tier safety concept is in place to ensure reliable operation under a wide range of weather conditions. The SigenMate system has already been honored with an iF Design Award for its design.
