SilentiumPC Fortis 5: Powerful CPU cooler in 3 variants

SilentiumPC has introduced a new, powerful CPU cooler with the Fortis 5. Or rather: 3, because the Fortis 5 appears in different variants. All Fortis 5 models are based on a brand new heatsink design, which consists of an optimized base plate and a total of six 6 mm copper heatpipes.

SilentiumPC Fortis 5 in detail

The regular SilentiumPC Fortis 5 targets the mainstream, while the Fortis 5 Dual is designed for performance-oriented and noise-conscious enthusiasts. Also available is the Fortis 5 ARGB, which relies on an ARGB fan to visually showcase the PC’s inner workings.

All Fortis 5 models are based on a brand new heatsink design that consists of an optimized bottom plate and a total of six 6mm copper heatpipes. Depending on the model, either one or two Fluctus fans are included. The Fluctus series fans are tuned for high static pressure, resulting in high airflow and quiet operation.

In terms of performance, the Fortis 5 is said to easily keep up with large twin-tower CPU coolers, while its finely tuned psychoacoustic properties allow it to outperform even the best single-towers in terms of cooling efficiency and noise. A 6-year manufacturer’s warranty is a testament to how confident SilentiumPC is in its air cooler.

The Fortis 5 is compatible with all popular modern CPU sockets.

  • Intel: LGA 1700, LGA 1200, LGA 1150, LGA 1151, LGA 1155, LGA 1156, LGA 2066, LGA 2011-3 (square ILM), LGA 2011 (square ILM)
  • AMD: AM4, AM3(+), AM2(+), FM2(+) and FM1.

High-end cooling solution

Fortis 5 series is the next step in a revolutionary design developed in collaboration with Synergy Cooling and is another representative of the new generation of SilentiumPC cooling systems.

It features a larger heatsink consisting of 47 tightly packed cooling fins. There are six 6mm copper heatpipes embedded in the large copper bottom plate, which are perfectly aligned to conduct all the waste heat through the heatsink as efficiently as possible. The total heat dissipation area is more than 50 percent larger than that of the well-known Fera 5 cooler.

The Fortis 5 heatsink is asymmetrical and has been optimized for unidirectional airflow. This ensures high compatibility and does not clash with larger memory modules. In addition to the Fortis 5 with one fan, the Fortis 5 Dual Fan comes with two Fluctus fans at once: a 140mm fan on the front and a 120mm fan on the back. The Fortis 5 ARGB has been visually upgraded with an addressable LED RGB lighting system.

The Fluctus’ signature serrated edge fan blades provide high static pressure when combined with a dense heatsink like the Fortis 5’s, resulting in incredibly high airflow while maintaining very low noise levels. The Fluctus fans are equipped with advanced and durable FDB bearings (MTBF,100,000 hours) and vibration absorbers at the corners, which further reduces operating noise.

Each Fortis 5 model has been tuned for a wide speed range, with both the 140mm and 120mm Fluctus fans operating between 300 and 1,400 rpm. The PWM function allows you to adjust the fan speed to your own needs. It is even possible to temporarily turn off the Fluctus fans (fan stop) to let the cooling system run passively at low load.

Easy mounting

The Fortis 5 features a new generation of universal mounting systems that improve pressure on the processor, which is critical for cooling efficiency. The kit consists of fewer parts, has a backplate, and is easier than ever to mount.

The kit also includes Pactum PT-3 thermal paste in a sufficient amount for multiple applications. The accessory kit allows for the installation of up to two fans, similar to the Fortis 5 Dual.

Prices and Availability

The three SilentiumPC Fortis 5 coolers are available in stores now. MSRP is $41.99 for the standard model, $48.99 for the Fortis 5 Dual Fan, and $52.99 for the Fortis 5 ARGB.
