The Skoda Peaq is official: the Czech car manufacturer has unveiled its new electric flagship, which is set to celebrate its world premiere in mid-2026. Based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electric Drive Toolkit (MEB), the SUV will be the largest and most spacious model that Skoda has ever built – with a length of almost 4.90 meters, space for up to seven people and a range of over 600 kilometers.
Skoda Peaq: dimensions and space
With a length of 4,874 mm, a height of 1,664 mm and a wheelbase of 2,965 mm, the Peaq surpasses both the previous top dog among electric SUVs and the in-house Kodiaq in terms of size. The amount of space in the second row is likely to be almost lavish by European standards.
As a five-seater, the Peaq offers a trunk with a volume of 1,010 liters – more than any other current Skoda model. Those who order the optional third row of seats still have 299 liters of storage space available. In addition, for the first time at Skoda, there is a standard frunk (front storage space) with 37 liters under the hood.
Design in modern solid style
Visually, the Peaq follows Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language, which is already familiar from the Elroq and the revised Enyaq. A striking feature is the “Tech-Deck-Face” at the front – a high-gloss black surface with illuminated vertical slats. There are also optional full LED matrix headlights, retractable door handles and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels in 19 to 21 inch sizes.
At the rear, Skoda has opted for a new light signature in the form of a tilted “L”, which is likely to be found on other models from the brand in the future. There is a choice of ten different paint finishes.
Interior and equipment
Skoda has not yet released images of the interior, but some details are already known. Five different interior styles are to be available. For the first time at Skoda, the central infotainment display is arranged in portrait format and measures 13.6 inches. The driver’s display grows to 10 inches and there is an optional augmented reality head-up display.
The infotainment system is based on Android and is largely the same as that used in other current Group models such as the VW ID.3 Neo. A digital vehicle key for smartphone or smartwatch is also on board.
In terms of sound, the Peaq relies on a new Sonos sound system, which replaces the previous collaboration with Canton in the upper segment. A “Relax package” with ergonomic massage seats, leg rests and an integrated wellness app can also be ordered as an option.
Another highlight is the panoramic glass roof – the largest in the company’s history, according to Skoda. Thanks to Dynamic Shade Control, it can be darkened electrochromically in nine individually controllable segments. However, an opening function is not provided.
Drive and range of the Skoda Peaq
Three engine versions are planned for the market launch:
| Model | Power | Drive | Battery (gross) | Range (WLTP) | 0-100 km/h | Vmax | DC charging max. | 10-80 % |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peaq 60 | 150 kW (204 hp) | Rear-wheel drive | 63 kWh (NMC) | approx. 460 km | 8,6 s | 160 km/h | approx. 160 kW | 27 min |
| Peaq 90 | 210 kW (286 hp) | Rear-wheel drive | 91 kWh (NMC) | approx. 600 km | 7,1 s | 180 km/h | approx. 195 kW | 28 min |
| Peaq 90x | 220 kW (299 hp) | All-wheel drive | 91 kWh (NMC) | approx. 600 km | 6,7 s | 180 km/h | approx. 195 kW | 28 min |
Unlike the smaller Elroq and Enyaq models, Skoda does not use the new LFP batteries in the Peaq, but instead relies on the tried-and-tested NMC cell chemistry (nickel, manganese, cobalt). An RS model with significantly more power is due to follow in 2027.
Practical: The Peaq supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), meaning it can supply external devices such as e-bikes or camping accessories with power. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) should also be possible.
Driving behavior: Surprisingly agile
Initial test drives with camouflaged prototypes around Lake Como indicate comfortable and surprisingly manageable handling. Despite its imposing dimensions, the turning circle is said to be less than 10 meters – without rear-axle steering. The optional DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) suspension automatically adapts the damper characteristics to the driving situation and ensures a comfortable set-up.
Price and market launch
The world premiere of the Skoda Peaq is planned for summer 2026. The vehicle will be available for configuration from August 2026 and will be in dealerships in fall 2026. Official prices have not yet been announced, but industry experts expect the following scale:
- Peaq 60: from approx. 50,000 euros
- Peaq 90: from approx. 54,000 euros
- Peaq 90x: from approx. 57,000 euros
Skoda itself is aiming for price parity with the Kodiaq, which supports the estimates.
Conclusion: Skoda’s most ambitious electric model to date
Skoda is sending out a clear signal with the Peaq: The company wants to double its electric portfolio in 2026 and use the flagship to appeal to families who have not yet found a suitable electric car in the brand’s range. The combination of a huge amount of space, a decent range and a moderate price for the vehicle class sounds promising. Technically, however, the Peaq is on a par with the MEB modular system and does not offer any revolutionary innovations – the electronics architecture developed with Rivian is reserved for a later model.
