Skoda to launch three new e-cars by 2026

VW subsidiary Skoda is making the switch to electric drives faster than originally planned. Three fully electric models are already to be offered by 2026; originally, a switch was envisaged by 2030.

Skoda: Three new e-cars by 2026

The switch to e-cars at Skoda is now to proceed much faster than originally planned. As Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer revealed in an interview with Handelsblatt, the company plans to have three models by 2026: “By 2026, we will come up with three more electric models, with more to follow.”

Originally, the Czech automaker planned to continuously switch to fully electric cars by 2030. By 2030, the company now aims to already have an electric share of around 70 percent, 20 percent more than previously planned. The targets within the company have become more ambitious, Zellmer added.

For this reason, the company is investing a total of 5.6 billion euros in expansion by 2026 in order to be able to drive forward the electric revolution more quickly. Which new models we can expect is currently still unclear.

With the Skoda Enyaq iV and coupe, there is already an electrically powered model from Skoda. In October, they showed off the Vision 7S, an impressive E-SUV study with a beefy look and seven seats, which is fittingly scheduled to launch in 2026.

Thus, the E-SUV is considered almost set as one of the three planned electric vehicles. Other models currently in the pipeline are a compact car and a compact crossover. The small car in particular is expected to be within an affordable price range, probably being offered for less than 25,000 euros.
