For some time now, Gigaset has been offering smart home solutions that can also be used to monitor and secure one’s own home. As of now, the company is cooperating with the Stadtritter security service in this regard.
Additional security option through service
The basic idea behind the cooperation is simple: the company Stadtritter, which specializes in security services, is to provide an additional security option for all those who want to make their homes safer with Gigaset. When the new option is added, all alarms triggered are reported to Stadtritter’s control center. The control center then contacts the user to clarify whether the alarm may have been triggered accidentally or is already known.
This makes sense primarily in situations in which it is not possible to respond to an alarm message oneself – for example, while on vacation. In these cases, Stadtritter steps in and first phones through a list of specified contacts. If they are not reached or cannot adequately respond to the alarm, Stadtritter contacts the state emergency services. This is to ensure that security against burglaries, fires or similar dangers is guaranteed at all times – even if no one is present in the house.
Two rates bookable
The care provided by Stadtritter is not included as standard in Gigaset’s Smart-Home set. Rather, it must be booked as a paid add-on option. This is possible via the “Services” section in the Smart Home app. Two rates are offered, with a different scope of services and price level. The standard rate includes the described support from Stadtritter. The cost is 19.90 euros per month. In addition, a premium rate can be selected, which also includes the storage of a house key at Stadtritter. The costs in the premium tariff amount to 39.90 euros per month.
