Sony adds three new Bluetooth speakers to the ULT POWER SOUND series

Sony has introduced three new Bluetooth speakers that expand the existing ULT POWER SOUND series. The new models – ULT Tower 9, ULT Field 5 and ULT Field 3 – are aimed at music fans who appreciate deep bass, high sound quality and versatility. Sony is focusing on a combination of technical sophistication, modern design and sustainable production. Particularly noteworthy: the collaboration with global superstar Post Malone, who supports the new product line as a brand ambassador.

  • ULT Tower 9: High-end party speaker with 360° sound, dual bass modes and karaoke features
  • ULT Field 5: Portable speaker with powerful sound, light show and 25 hours of battery life
  • ULT Field 3: Robust, compact speaker with customizable sound profile and high mobility

The new centerpiece of every party: The ULT Tower 9

The ULT Tower 9 is the flagship of the new series and is clearly aimed at users who want to enjoy uncompromising sound at high volume. The model is equipped with a massive speaker system that processes low frequencies in two special bass modes: ULT1 for rich depth and ULT2 for powerful punch. An integrated 10-band equalizer allows the sound to be individually adapted to the situation at hand – from electronic music to hip-hop and live concerts.

The completely redesigned 360-degree LED lighting, which moves in sync with the music and easily fills larger rooms, creates a visual atmosphere. There are also karaoke functions with a microphone connection, making the speaker particularly suitable for parties. Despite the power, the speaker remains flexible: there is a mains-powered version (RRP: USD 749.99) and a battery-powered version with up to 25 hours of runtime (RRP: USD 899.99).

Powerful and mobile: The ULT Field 5

The ULT Field 5 is the evolution of the popular SRS-XG300 and combines powerful sound with high mobility. With its central woofer and two separate tweeters, the device provides balanced, dynamic sound – whether in the park, at a festival or on the balcony. The battery life is an impressive 25 hours and the device can be easily transported using an optional shoulder strap.

A special highlight are the integrated lighting effects, which set the mood without being too dominant. The Sony Music Center app can be used not only to control the light color, but also to fine-tune the sound using the integrated 10-band equalizer. Thanks to IP67 certification, the speaker is also waterproof and dustproof, making it ideal for outdoor adventures.

Compact, robust and well thought-out: the ULT Field 3

For anyone looking for an inconspicuous but powerful speaker, Sony is launching the ULT Field 3, a particularly portable model. The successor to the SRS-XE300 offers a balanced sound, an adjustable 7-band equalizer and support for the ULT1 bass mode. Despite its compact design, the battery lasts up to 24 hours – even with Bass Boost activated, around five hours of playtime are still possible.

In contrast to its larger siblings, the Field 3 does without a light show, but scores points for its suitability for everyday use: IP67 protection, shockproof housing and a low weight make it the ideal companion for on the go. The quick-charge function is particularly useful, providing sufficient battery power for a further 2.5 hours of playback within ten minutes.

Sustainability and availability

Sony is consistently using more environmentally friendly materials in the new series. Recycled plastics are used in all models and most of the packaging is made from sustainable materials. This is in line with the company’s goal of integrating environmental sustainability more strongly into product development.

The new ULT POWER SOUND speakers will be available from April 2024. The ULT Tower 9 will be offered exclusively in black, while the portable ULT Field 5 and Field 3 models will be available in several colors, including vibrant hues such as blue and orange. Depending on the model, the RRP is 999 euros (ULT Tower 9 battery), 699 euros for the model without battery, 749.99 USD (ULT Tower 9 mains), 299.99 USD (ULT Field 5) and 129.99 USD (ULT Field 3).

Sony ULT POWER: Conclusion

With the expansion of the ULT POWER SOUND series, Sony delivers a convincing selection of Bluetooth speakers for different purposes – from large events to relaxed music enjoyment on the go. The combination of high sound quality, intelligent features and sustainable design makes the new models an exciting option in the increasingly competitive portable speaker market. The prices remain reasonable and offer an attractive overall package in view of the features on offer.
