Sony is taking its home cinema portfolio to a new level in 2026. With the new Sony BRAVIA True RGB televisions BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II as well as the new BRAVIA Theatre Trio, the manufacturer is consistently pursuing its vision of “Cinema is Coming Home”. The focus here is on significantly improved colour reproduction, high brightness, intelligent picture optimization and a sound system designed to bring a real cinema feeling into your own four walls.

The new models are the first after the spin-off to TCL and combine innovative RGB backlighting with modern audio technologies and are clearly aimed at discerning home cinema fans who value picture fidelity and immersive sound.

  • New True RGB technology with independently controllable RGB LEDs for more precise colors
  • Picture sizes up to 115 inches for true large-format home cinema
  • BRAVIA Theatre Trio with 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

Sony BRAVIA True RGB sets new standards in picture quality and color volume

With the Sony BRAVIA True RGB, the manufacturer is introducing a new generation of displays based on the specially developed RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro. Unlike classic mini LED systems, Sony controls red, green and blue light sources independently of each other. This enables much more precise color reproduction and a significantly expanded color volume.

The new BRAVIA 9 II flagship in particular benefits from this technology. Thanks to newly developed LED controllers and Sony’s “RGB Triluminos Max”, the most authentic color representation of a Sony television to date is to be achieved. Added to this is the new “Immersive Black Screen Pro” coating, which minimizes reflections and enables deep blacks even in bright surroundings.

The BRAVIA 7 II also benefits from the improvements. It offers the same True RGB basis, but is positioned slightly below the top model and covers a broad spectrum with screen sizes from 50 to 98 inches.

Both models rely on AI-supported picture and sound optimization. Functions such as “My Cinema” and “Ambient Optimization” automatically adapt the display to the room lighting and seating position. Modern standards such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced are also supported.

Visually, Sony is pursuing a minimalist premium approach. A transparent center stand and the structured frame look give the televisions a floating look that integrates discreetly into modern living spaces.

Sony BRAVIA Theatre Trio complements the Sony BRAVIA True RGB experience with immersive cinema sound

Alongside the new TVs, Sony is introducing the BRAVIA Theatre Trio – a premium wireless home cinema system designed specifically for large screen sizes.

The system is based on three optimized front speakers and uses Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping to simulate up to 24 virtual speakers. This creates a spatial sound field that clearly positions dialog and makes surround effects appear much more realistic.

The development in collaboration with the audio experts at Sony Pictures Entertainment is particularly interesting. The aim was to create sound images as close as possible to professional cinema productions. This is complemented by a new USB-C calibration microphone that analyzes the room acoustics and automatically adjusts the sound profile.

The system also supports extensions with optional subwoofers or rear speakers. The new “Direct Connect” technology even allows the direct connection of compatible BRAVIA televisions with additional audio components – without a classic soundbar as an intermediate solution.

Sustainability also plays a central role. Sony is increasingly focusing on recycled materials and is using renewable plastics made from renewable raw materials for the first time in the BRAVIA 9 II.
