Designed for the Stage
The Sony IER-M500 is specifically aimed at musicians looking for wired in-ear monitors for rehearsals and performances. They promise particularly effective passive noise isolation, neutral sound, and a high level of comfort. The cable runs behind the ear to ensure the in-ear monitors stay securely in place even if they’re accidentally pulled—a scenario that can certainly happen on stage.
Replaceable Cable and Solid Construction
The included 1.6-meter cable with a 3.5-mm mini-jack can be replaced if necessary, for example, if it becomes damaged or doesn’t fit your setup. Sony uses dynamic drivers with a 5-millimeter diameter, a sensitivity of 103 dB/mW, an impedance of 16 ohms, and a frequency response ranging from 10 Hz to 40 kHz. The earbuds are also designed to be durable enough to withstand even demanding concerts, including sweat and moisture.
Transparent design in four color options
The housing is made of transparent plastic and is available in white, black, or blue/red. In the blue/red version, the left earbud is blue and the right one is red, making it easy to tell which earbud goes in which ear at a glance, rather than relying on a small label. 35 percent of the plastic used is made from recycled material.

The Sony IER-M500 is now available for pre-order for 119 euros, with shipping expected to begin on August 21. The package includes ear tips in four sizes, ear clips in five sizes, and a zippered carrying case.
