The PlayStation 5 Pro has been officially announced and brings with it numerous innovations that should significantly improve the gaming experience. With a faster GPU, AI upscaling and a larger SSD, the console is set to outperform the competition. However, there is no disk drive and the price is steep.

Powerful GPU and AI upscaling
The PS5 Pro relies on a completely new GPU with 67% more compute units and 28% faster system memory, which promises a significant increase in graphics performance. Games run stably at 60 frames per second without reducing the resolution or the quality of the graphics details.
The new AI upscaling technology PSSR makes it possible to render games at a lower resolution and then upscale them to 4K using AI, which further improves performance.
Larger SSD and no disk drive
The PS5 Pro comes with a 2 TB SSD, which offers twice as much storage space as the regular PS5. However, Sony has dispensed with an integrated disk drive, which can be purchased separately for around 80 euros.
This could be a limitation for some users who value physical game media. Sony also does not include a stand for vertical use with the console. This must also be purchased separately.
Improved connectivity and backwards compatibility
