With the Soundboks Mix, the Danish manufacturer is launching a new speaker on the market that is specifically designed to close the gap between performance and mobility. It replaces the previous Soundboks Go (test). Known for its extremely loud and robust festival speakers, this time Soundboks has opted for a more compact design without sacrificing the usual power. The Mix could therefore establish itself as a versatile solution for outdoor parties, events and spontaneous use.

  • Compact speaker with a volume of up to 121 dB
  • Replaceable battery with up to 40 hours runtime
  • Robust, splash-proof housing (IP65)
  • App control with equalizer and sound profiles

Soundboks Mix combines performance and mobility in a compact format

With the Soundboks Mix, the manufacturer is pursuing a clear goal: maximum volume with significantly reduced dimensions. Compared to the larger Soundboks 4, the new model is noticeably more compact and weighs around nine kilograms. Although it is still no lightweight, it is much easier to transport and more flexible to use.

Despite its smaller design, the speaker delivers an impressive maximum volume of 121 dB. This value is in the range of typical festival speakers and shows that Soundboks continues to focus strongly on assertiveness outdoors. Inside, a classic setup consisting of a 10-inch bass-midrange driver, a 1.2-inch tweeter and a bass reflex port is used, which should provide a balanced mix of bass pressure and clear highs.

The features are well thought out: an integrated carrying handle and the option of attaching a shoulder strap further increase mobility. The familiar, replaceable battery is also retained, which is a practical advantage, especially for longer events. This combination of performance and flexibility seems plausible and fits in with the brand’s previous product strategy.

Outdoor focus, battery life and smart functions for everyday use

As you would expect from Soundboks, the Mix is also consistently designed for outdoor use. The housing has shock-absorbing elements at the corners and, according to the manufacturer, is protected against dust and water jets to IP65. This makes the speaker suitable for festivals, camping or garden parties where the weather and environment play a major role.

A decisive factor is the battery life. At maximum volume, the Soundboks Mix should last around eight hours – a realistic figure given the high output power. In moderate operation, even up to 40 hours are possible. This places the speaker between the existing models and offers a good compromise between battery life and performance.

The Mix also remains modern on the software side. Various sound profiles can be selected or an individual equalizer can be set via the Soundboks app. This allows the sound to be adapted to different music genres or environments. The controls are still located on the side of the housing and ensure intuitive control directly on the device.

Overall, the concept seems coherent: The Soundboks Mix replaces older models in the portfolio and adds a portable yet powerful alternative to the range.

Conclusion

The Soundboks Mix impresses as a compact festival speaker with powerful performance and high flexibility. In particular, the combination of 121 dB volume, robust design and replaceable battery makes it an interesting option for mobile applications. With an RRP of 699 euros and a market launch on March 26, 2026, the speaker is positioned in the premium segment, but remains within the range of previous Soundboks products.
