Soundcore Motion Boom Plus: new outdoor speaker unveiled

Anker’s audio brand has unveiled its new outdoor speaker, the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus, which is said to provide “an extra dose of boom” with 80 watts of power and last for 20 hours.

With the Motion+, Flare 2 or Soundcore 3, the audio brand already has some compact indoor Bluetooth speakers in its portfolio. With the new Soundcore Motion Boom Plus, a corresponding counterpart for outdoors now follows, with which one wants to compete against Teufel Rockster Cross (our test) or the Soundboks Go.

Compared to the original Motion Boom, the new Plus model comes up with some improvements. For example, the IP67-protected Bluetooth speaker features a full two woofers with 30 watts of power each and two additional 10-watt tweeters that bring it to a total output of 80 watts. Thanks to BassUp technology, the sound of the titanium audio drivers should appeal especially to fans of bass-heavy music.

The PartyCast 2.0 feature also allows multiple Soundcore speakers to be connected wirelessly to further amplify the output power. Inside, the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus features a 13,400 mAh battery that is supposed to last for around 20 hours and additionally charges smartphones and other devices thanks to the PowerBank function.

Wirelessly, the Boom Plus transmits via Bluetooth 5.3, which promises low latency. It also has an AUX-in input to play music or content from other sources via cable. Soundcore promises that the speaker should be “compact and light as a feather”. For transport, however, it is still better to use the included carrying strap.

Price and Availability

The Soundcore Motion Boom Plus will find its way into stores starting May 30, 2022, and will be available directly from the manufacturer or on Amazon. The MSRP is 179.99 euros. However, those who already register on the product website and pay one euro will secure the Bluetooth speaker for only 149.99 euros thanks to an early bird voucher.
