Speedlink Vivas: True wireless in-ear for gamers unveiled

Razer has had them for years, HyperX with the Cloud MIX Buds and Asus with the ROG Cetra True Wireless only recently: True Wireless in-ear headphones for gamers. Now Speedlink is also getting into the segment and presents chic earbuds with the Speedlink Vivas, which you can also get with optional LED lighting,

Speedlink Vivas introduced

The Speedlink Vivas are classic True Wireless in-ears that communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth with smartphones and other audio sources. They rely on a familiar pen design, but feature a flat, comparatively wide exterior.

The manufacturer does not really go into technical details during the presentation, but reveals that the headphones are supposed to deliver a “first-class stereo sound within a range of up to ten meters”. Which Bluetooth standard is used? We don’t know. What is known, however, is the impedance, which is 32 ohms, and the covered frequency response from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz.

Both models are operated with the help of touch-sensitive surfaces, and the case is charged via USB-C. However, there are some differences between the Vivas and Vivas LED gaming in-ears.

Speedlink Vivas LED with lighting and larger battery

There are actually quite a few differences between the Speedlink Vivas and the Speedlink Vivas LED gaming model. This already starts with the color, because while the standard variant comes in matte gray, the LED model relies on black. Including a blue illumination.

The drivers of the LED are slightly smaller (12 mm instead of 13 mm), but there is a dedicated gaming mode with a particularly low latency. The Vivas is also sweat-proof, while the Vivas LED is splash-proof.

The charging case and overall weight of the Vivas LED also turn out to be larger. Here, 74 x 62 x 35 mm and 65 grams of total weight are compared to 55 x 56 x 28 mm and 43 grams. In addition, the batteries in the gaming counterpart are bigger, which means a combined battery life of 20 hours is promised. This lies, with the normal Speedlink Vivas, however, only at 16 hours.

Price and availability

Both True Wireless in-ear headphones from Speedlink are available in stores now. The Speedlink Vivas has an MSRP of 29.99 euros, while the Speedlink Vivas LED costs 49.99 euros.
