The announcement was made a while ago, but now Spotify has launched the new feature worldwide. The Spotify Blend feature allows users to create a dynamic playlist together with friends, which updates itself daily.
Dynamic Blend
The new Blend feature allows you to invite another person to join a playlist. Spotify then creates a personalized mix of both participants’ favorite songs, which is updated daily. However, this only works if both participants agree to the mix and have an active account with the music streaming service. However, this is also possible with the free variant.
In addition to the playlist, Spotify Blend provides a so-called taste comparison, which analyzes how much the music tastes of both participants are on par and in what both tastes differ.
Hidden Feature
After beta testing in June this year, Spotify’s Blend feature is now launching worldwide (including Germany). Within the mobile app, however, the blend function is still very well hidden.
Using the “Search” tab, you need to select the sub-item “Created for you”. There you will find the item “Create Shared Mix” at the very top. Then you can send an invitation to another participant.
