With the new BC510 and TC510 models, Synology is expanding its portfolio in the field of intelligent video surveillance. The two AI cameras combine high-resolution image quality, modern analysis functions and flexible integration into existing security infrastructures. The focus is particularly on edge AI, cloud-capable surveillance solutions and support for open industry standards. Synology is therefore targeting both companies and professional users who are looking for scalable and future-proof surveillance systems.
- AI-supported analysis directly on the camera through Edge AI
- 2880 × 1620 pixel resolution with 30 FPS and 110-degree wide angle
- IP66 and IP67 certification for indoor and outdoor use
- ONVIF support for flexible integration into existing systems
Synology BC510 and TC510 rely on intelligent video analytics directly at the edge
With the BC510 and TC510 models, Synology is consistently pursuing the expansion of its surveillance ecosystem. Instead of offering pure camera hardware, the new devices are designed to work closely with video management systems, AI analytics, storage solutions and cloud services. The focus on edge AI is particularly striking. Analysis processes such as people and vehicle counting, intruder detection or instant search are processed directly on the camera.
This significantly reduces the load on central servers, while at the same time enabling faster response times. This can significantly increase efficiency, especially in larger surveillance environments or with multiple parallel camera streams. At the same time, local processing minimizes potential latencies when analysing critical events.
Synology has also positioned the new models in the professional range in terms of image quality. Both cameras record with a resolution of 2880 × 1620 pixels at 30 frames per second. This is complemented by a horizontal field of view of 110 degrees and a night vision range of up to 30 meters. This makes the cameras suitable for both indoor and outdoor areas with difficult lighting conditions.
The IP66 and IP67 certifications also underline the robust design. Rain, dust or changing weather conditions should not affect the operation of the cameras. This makes the BC510 and TC510 particularly interesting for company premises, storage areas, entrance areas or parking lots.
AI cameras with ONVIF support and cloud connection
An important aspect of the new Synology cameras is their openness to existing security solutions. While many manufacturers rely on closed systems, the BC510 and TC510 support the ONVIF standard. This means that the devices can also be integrated into existing NVR or VMS environments from other providers.
For companies, this means more flexibility when modernizing existing infrastructures. Existing systems can continue to be used without having to replace the entire security network. At the same time, the cameras remain fully compatible with the native Synology ecosystem and the company’s announced VSaaS platform.
The planned cloud-based surveillance solution should be particularly interesting for larger installations where centralized management, scalability and remote access play an important role. Synology is thus increasingly positioning itself as a full-service provider for modern security and surveillance solutions that combine local hardware with cloud services and AI functions.
Synology has not yet published pricing details. However, the new AI cameras are available immediately from specialist retailers and authorized partners.

Conclusion
The Synology BC510 and TC510 combine modern AI analysis, robust outdoor features and flexible integration options in a professional surveillance package. The local edge AI and ONVIF support in particular make the cameras highly versatile. Thanks to the combination of high image quality, cloud preparation and an open ecosystem, the models could establish themselves as an interesting solution, especially for companies and demanding security environments. The cameras are available in stores now.
