Synology RackStation RS2825RP+: Powerful data center
The Synology RackStation RS2825RP+ is designed for maximum performance in everyday business. With sequential transfer rates of up to 3,519 MB/s read and 1,790 MB/s write, it enables fast file transfers and stable operations even for data-intensive tasks. This makes it ideal for the central management of company data, synchronization between locations or as a backup target for servers and end devices.
The system is already equipped with 16 slots ex works, which can accommodate both 3.5″ SATA HDDs and 2.5″ SATA SSDs. With the optional RX1225RP expansion unit, the maximum number can be increased to up to 28 drives – offering a total storage potential of up to 560 TB raw capacity. This means that the RS2825RP+ is also ideally equipped for growing requirements.
An integrated 10GbE port and two additional Gigabit LAN ports ensure high network connectivity. The network interface can be expanded with 1/10/25GbE cards via a PCIe 3.0 expansion slot if required. Thanks to hot-swappable drives and redundant power supplies, the system remains operational even in the event of a fault – ideal for business-critical applications.
Synology RackStation RS2825RP+: Flexible and secure
With the RS2825RP+, Synology places particular emphasis on flexibility and long-term reliability. In addition to classic HDDs, SSDs can also be used as primary storage or as a cache to accelerate data access. An optional expansion card allows additional M.2 NVMe SSDs to be integrated, which enables a significant increase in performance in hybrid or all-flash configurations.
It is based on Synology’s own operating system DSM (DiskStation Manager), which provides a wide range of business functions. With Synology Drive, the RackStation becomes a private cloud with synchronization functions across multiple locations – an advantage for decentralized teams. At the same time, the Active Backup Suite offers comprehensive backup solutions for physical devices, virtual machines and cloud accounts.
Another area of application is integration into existing security infrastructures: Surveillance Station can be used to integrate and manage numerous IP cameras. The software offers scalable video management with real-time analysis functions, which also makes the RS2825RP+ interesting as a central surveillance backend.
