T+A Solitaire T: Wireless Hi-Fi headphones launch for 1,300 euros

As part of the HIGH END 2022 in Munich, the German hi-fi manufacturer T+A from Herborn in North Rhine-Westphalia presented, among other things, a new high-end headphone . The T+A Solitaire T is said to achieve premium, audiophile-grade sound via Bluetooth. The specs read impressive, but of course the whole thing comes at a price.

T+A Solitaire T in detail

If you thought the Apple AirPods Max wireless over-ear headphones or the new Sony WH-1000XM5 were expensive, you’re probably better off not reading any further. The manufacturer calls up a whopping 1,300 euros as a recommended retail price for the new T+A Solitaire T hi-fi headphones. But audiophile users also get a lot for it.

“It should overcome the contradictions between audiophile, work and travel headphones,” it says on the part of the manufacturer. To that end, the Solitaire T uses the Qualcomm QCC 5127 Bluetooth chip, which supports not only Sony’s hi-fi LDAC codec, but also Qualcomm’s own aptX HD codec.

Joining them is an Esstech ES9218 Sabre DAC, which converts the digital audio signal and combines a high-end sound from wired headphones with the freedom of wireless headphones. Specially developed cellulose drivers with a diameter of 42 mm are responsible for the sound. Sonically, he Solitaire T relies on an optimized low bass system with airy highs and clear mids.

Passive and active noise cancellation

In combination with the revised design, the T+A Solitaire T should already be able to convince with a very good passive noise cancellation. Especially disturbing noises in the mid-high range should be effectively reduced.

If that’s not enough, you can also add active noise cancellation (ANC) via a switch, which is supposed to eliminate low frequencies in particular. The activated ANC is not supposed to have any effects on the sound of the headphones.

The Solitaire T are operated via buttons and switches on both sides of the ear cups. Of course, the workmanship and design are also just right. Here, T+A relies on a case made of high-quality aluminum, plastic elements and soft vegan leatherette.

Offered are the headphones optionally in black-silver and white-silver color scheme. In the scope of delivery are, in addition to all necessary cables, also two transport cases with which all cables, as well as the foldable and collapsible headphones can be taken anywhere space-saving and safe.

Price and Availability

The T+A Solitaire T are scheduled to make their way into stores in July 2022. The recommended retail price, as already mentioned at the beginning, is around 1,300 euros.
