Tesla Holiday update brings Steam and Apple Music support

Via Twitter, the car manufacturer announced the roll-out of the Tesla Holiday Update, which can also be soberly called “2022.44.25.1”. The new update for the electric cars introduces Steam support and Apple Music, among other things.

Tesla vehicle owners can now enjoy the Tesla Holiday update 2022.44.25.1, which the manufacturer says is rolling out immediately.

The new update brings with it a whole host of exciting features. One of them is the support of the music streaming service Apple Music, after the corresponding app was leaked last month. Accordingly, Apple Music is now available in the Tesla S, 3, X and Y models.

Also included is support for the game client Steam, which is currently in beta and can be tried out in the Tesla Model S and Model X models. However, Steam can only be used in the “new” variants of both vehicles.

According to Release Notes, this feature requires one of the two 2022 or newer models equipped with at least 16 gigabytes of DDR RAM. Das premium connectivity subscription, which costs €9.99 per month, is also a basic requirement.

If all that is given, you get full access to the Steam Store via your Tesla and can play the corresponding titles. However, Tesla states that only those games can be played that have also been verified for the gaming handheld Steam Deck. That hints at similar technology.

More features bring dog mode, zoom meetings and more

However, the list of new features in the Tesla Holiday update does not end there. Also included, for example, is the so-called “Dog Mode,” thanks to which you can keep an eye on your pets (or kids and Christmas shopping) while on the go with the help of the interior camera of the Models S, 3, X and Y in conjunction with the mobile app.

The media control system has also been optimized and is now more accessible to the driver. myQ Connected Garage door openers are now supported, and the speed of the air-conditioning fans can also be controlled.

Other functions that are not available in Germany include video calls using Zoom, the game Mahjong, and the drive virtualization Rainbow Road, which is obviously based on the Mario Kart games.

A feature that allows a light show of several Tesla vehicles to be planned and played synchronously also doesn’t make it to Germany. However, this is also shown on Twitter or YouTube in a short video.
