Tesla: Model S gets new lamps

Tesla is constantly striving to innovate and improve its models in terms of powertrains, battery technology and entertainment. However, while the company is very open to change when it comes to the technical features of its vehicles, it is inflexible when it comes to the design of its Model S, X, Y and 3. The most significant visual change in the last facelift, for example, was the change in color of the door handles from silver to black. However, the U.S. carmaker is happy to make changes to the new facelift of its top model, the Model S. The new lamps are particularly appealing. The new lamps in particular are quite appealing. We take a closer look.

The most noticeable change that comes with the facelift is undoubtedly the new lights on the Model S. Tesla has redesigned both the rear and front headlights. The e-car maker presented the final result to a select audience in Taiwan. Thus, at least in Taiwan, the wait for the models with renewed optics, which were announced a year ago, finally seems to have come to an end. In addition to the renewed lamps, there are also CCS charging ports and a revised rear design to admire. The D-shaped steering wheel, reminiscent of a spaceship, is also part of the package. For European customers, this should make them look forward to an imminent release in our regions. According to Tesla, we can expect deliveries of the new Model S and X in Europe in the third or fourth quarter of 2022.

One look at the new headlight design is sure to make the hearts of many Tesla fans beat faster. This already starts with the front. After all, according to the automotive experts at Electrek, these are supposed to be very special matrix projector headlights. The headlights on the back, on the other hand, seem to be “only” a design change. If you take a closer look, however, you will also notice other smaller design changes. For example, Tesla now apparently does without the trim strip, which is still located above the license plate on the back of the current models. The larger charging door, on the other hand, can be attributed to the finally available CCS port.
