Features: A system for TV, music, and gaming
The main speaker’s enclosure houses a 2 x 50-watt RMS amplifier, which ensures sufficient volume even in larger living rooms. If you’re connecting the Ultima 25 Aktiv 2 to your TV, it’s best to use HDMI ARC/CEC: The speaker will then respond directly to the TV remote and automatically wake up from standby when it receives a signal. Alternatively, an optical digital input, an AUX input, and a USB-C sound card are available for connecting to a PC.
For wireless sources, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for Qualcomm aptX and AAC is built in. Those who prefer traditional radio can access DAB+ and FM via the built-in tuner, which includes preset station buttons. Dolby Digital is also supported, giving the Ultima 25 Aktiv 2 an edge during movie nights.
Sound: Kevlar Midrange Driver and Waveguide Tweeter
Acoustically, Teufel relies on a 2-way system. The midrange driver is made of woven Kevlar and features a phase plug designed to reduce phase shifts between sound components. It is complemented by a 25-mm tweeter with a waveguide, which, according to Teufel, ensures more precise sound localization and a wider soundstage because the high frequencies are emitted in a more focused manner. A tuned bass-reflex system handles the low frequencies.
In addition, Teufel has integrated Dynamore Virtual Center technology. It simulates a virtual center channel using the two stereo speakers and is designed primarily to make dialogue in movies and TV shows easier to understand—an area where pure stereo setups often fall short.
Controls: OLED display, touch sliders, and remote control
The Ultima 25 Aktiv 2 can be controlled either via the touch sliders on the top of the enclosure, the included remote control, or even your TV’s remote control via HDMI-CEC. A dimmable OLED display shows the source, volume, or the selected radio station. The enclosure is made of FSC-certified wood and, compared to its predecessor, has been adapted to the new, cleaner-cut Ultima design.
If you want to expand the system later, you can add a wireless subwoofer or upgrade to a surround sound system with additional speakers. M6 threads are already built in for wall mounting or use with stands.

Differences from the first Ultima 25 Active
Compared to the previous model, Teufel has focused primarily on improving the acoustics: The midrange driver is no longer made of fiberglass but of woven Kevlar, and the new tweeter is equipped with an additional waveguide. There’s also an upgrade in terms of controls, as the previous LED display has been replaced by a dimmable OLED panel, and the radio now supports DAB+ as well. The new Dynamore Virtual Center technology is also a first for the series. As a result, the price has increased by 50 euros, from 499.99 to 549.99 euros.
Price and Availability
The Teufel Ultima 25 Aktiv 2 is now available in Night Black and Pure White for 549.99 euros in the Teufel online shop and at all Teufel stores, including as a bundle with other components. If you’re looking for alternatives from the Teufel portfolio, you should also check out the Teufel ROCKSTER 2 for mobile audio or the Teufel Cinebar Duett as a dedicated soundbar alternative.
Conclusion
With the Ultima 25 Aktiv 2, Teufel stays true to its concept: an active stereo set that requires no additional devices and still works equally well with TVs, PCs, and music systems. The 50-euro price increase compared to its predecessor can be attributed to the new tweeter, the Kevlar midrange driver, and the DAB+ tuner. For anyone looking for a hassle-free way to experience better sound without a tangle of cables, this system is definitely worth a look.
