The Drift: Sleep well in the gaming bed with RGB lighting

We have gaming desks and gaming chairs, so of course the matching gaming bed is just the logical next step. With The Drift, the British company Dreams has now presented exactly that. With RGB lighting, of course.

The Drift: Here’s what the new gaming bed can do

Okay. The idea of a gaming bed is not all that new. Some may still remember the concept of the Japanese manufacturer Bauhütte, which they had presented in March 2020. British supplier Dreams has now unveiled “The Drift” – the matching gaming bed with RGB LED lighting. But what can it do anyway?

Well. first of all, The Drift is a bed. Incredible, but true. So you can sleep in it. The bed frame is offered in three sizes as a narrow double bed with a width of around 140 cm, as a double bed with 155 cm or as a “king” variant with a width of 170 cm. The length is 236 cm, regardless of the model.

Then, of course, there’s the matching LED RGB lighting behind and under the bed to reflect the color of your favorite system, according to the manufacturer. There are apparently three colors to choose from here. Of course, this can also be switched off.

Clever ideas and TV directly integrated

Practical with The Drift, however, are the additional functions. For example, there is a USB and headset port on the headrest, as well as a matching holder for the headset.

On the side, there’s a media tray where – according to the manufacturer – you can store your consoles. The Ottoman Bed can also fold up the slatted base and mattress to use the space underneath as storage.

However, since gaming without a monitor or TV only works to a limited extent, The Drift gaming bed also has a TV integrated at the foot. This is in the form of the 32-inch LG 32LM63 Smart TV, which comes with two HDMI ports and two USB Type-C ports.

However, it only resolves with a manageable 1,366 x 768 pixels, which should only satisfy gamers to a limited extent. However, there are two other smart TV options to choose from for a surcharge: the LG 43LM6300 with 43 inches, Wi-Fi and Full HD resolution, as well as the 4K smart TV LG 43UP751, also with a size of 43 inches.

Offered is The Drift gaming bed in two different colors (black and gray), as well as with three different LED lights. Blue and green are only available for the black bed, while white lighting is exclusively available for the gray variant. A matching controller dock or side table is also optionally available from the supplier.

What does the gaming bed cost?

The gaming bed The Drift can be ordered exclusively directly from the manufacturer Dreams and already has eleven positive reviews, where it gets a full five out of five stars. Seems to be thus not bad.

It starts at a price of 1,799 British pounds for the smallest variant, which corresponds to about 2063 euros. Switching to the largest model costs an additional 200 pounds, which is just under 230 euros. Upgrades for the TV are 200 pounds for the 1080p 43-incher and another 100 pounds for the 4K TV. However, deliveries are unfortunately only possible within Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
