To expand the product portfolio, GIGABYTE has now introduced the VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB with USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C. It makes data backup easier than ever. With the new SSD, GIGABYTE aims to build on the previous successes of memory, motherboards and graphics cards, as well as strengthen its position as a manufacturer of innovative and very powerful SSDs at the same time.
Powerful SSD in elegant design
With the integrated 1TB PCIe Gen3 x4 solid-state drive (SSD), the VISION DRIVE SSD comes up with a sensational read and write speed of 2000 MB/s. The read and write speed comes from the extremely reliable and also powerful Phison E12 controller chip, the ultra-fast 1TB NAND flash memory, and the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C interface. The combo of everything, brings the sensational read and write performance. Thus, it is four times faster than conventional external SSDs. The storage capacity of the SSD is 1 TB, which should be enough to save all the data and make the necessary backups. GIGABYTE also stays true to the product design with the VISION DRIVE SSD. The SSD therefore comes with a matte white surface with protection against fingerprints. The design has leather applications, so you get a feeling for the good quality. At the bottom, the SSD is kept black so that it is not as susceptible to smudges.
Excellent cooling design and sturdy case
Environmentally friendly plastic materials were used for the VISION DRIVE SSD, as they are not as prone to cracking and breaking. In addition, there are dozens of reinforced struts to create higher structural stability. Then with two nano-carbon heat sinks around the SSD module, there is high thermal conductivity. Add to that perfectly aligned vents on the bottom and sides of the SSD’s case to further improve cooling. Through all of these measures, GIGABYTE was able to keep the surface temperature at a comfortable level in testing, preventing performance drops due to overheating.
To ensure that the VISION DRIVE SSD from GIGABYTE is also resistant if it should ever fall, the PCB has been secured with additional soldered brackets. The case of the SSD is made of steel. In tests, the SSD was even able to meet the requirements of the US Military Standards specified in MIL-STD-810G 516.6. So even when dropped from a height of 1.22 meters, only minor cosmetic damage to the SSD can be seen. The performance as well as reliability remained completely unaffected. Thus, it makes the GIGABYTE VISION DRIVE SSD a reliable partner for fast and secure data backup.
Availability and Price
The GIGABYTE VISION DRIVE SSD is available now, and it comes with a USB Type C and Type A cable, as well as the carrying case. To take advantage of all the benefits of the SSD, GIGABYTE is still releasing the VISION DRIVE 1 TB Upgrade Kit. This ensures the integration of VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB devices and the GC-USB 3.2 GEN2X2 Host Expansion Card with selected motherboards.
