Thok MIG-HT: New e-bike wants to combine MTB and city bike

With the new Thok MIG-HT, manufacturer Thok E-Bikes has presented an exciting new all-rounder, which should cut a fine figure both for open terrain and in the city. A Shimano E7000 motor with up to 60 Nm of torque and a 504 wH large battery are among the highlights of the equipment.

Thok MIG-HT: Highlights of the new e-bike

With the new Thok MIG-HT, the company from Italy has unveiled an exciting all-round e-bike that aims to combine the sporty experience of mountain biking with high comfort in the city.

As a motor, the MIG-HAT falls back on a Shimano Steps E7000, which calls up 250 watts of power and offers up to 60 Newton meters of torque. The flat motor is also designed for off-road use with a robust protective cover and is particularly protected against roots or high stones thanks to additional ground clearance. Due to the engine weight of 2.8 kg and the low center of gravity, the Thok MIG-HT is said to be stable and maneuverable even in rough terrain.

The 504 Wh water-resistant battery is rated for 1,000 recharge cycles and is positioned on the downtube to improve the e-bike’s handling. In addition, the bike offers two battery covers as standard: one cover that closes using a rubber band and a second cover with the “quick release” lock.

Robust construction

The frame of the Thok MIG-HT is made of aluminum and is said to be particularly robust. Offered is the e-bike in a total of four frame sizes (S, M, L and XL), which should appeal to different sizes. In size S, people from 140 cm find space on the e-bike, while the maximum size XL is designed for people from a height of 185 cm.

A RockShox RECON RL fork with 120 mm of travel is said to provide the necessary riding comfort, while hydraulic disc brakes with 200/180 mm increase safety.

Tourer kit for city riding

Otherwise, for the majority of the equipment, you work primarily with Shimano, which contribute gears, cassette and chain. Optionally, Thok also offers the e-bike designed by Drudi Performance with a “Tourer Kit”, which additionally expands the MIG-HT with mudguards (front and rear), a luggage rack, a lighting kit and Schwalbe Big-Ben tires (29 “x2.15). Thus, the E-MTB can be transformed into a comfortable city bike in just a few minutes.

The Thok MIG-HT e-bike is available now directly from the manufacturer. The price for all frame sizes is 3,390.00 euros. For shipping to Germany, the manufacturer charges an additional 80.00 euros. The optional Tourer kit can be ordered for an additional 169.00 euros.
