Easier ways for creators to earn
On TikTok, there are two different ways to earn money so far. The monetization options go by the names “Live Gifts” and “Creator Funds.” Now this repertoire will be expanded by three more ways. In the future, all five earning options will be available in the newly created “Creator Next” section. In the newly created portal, “Video Gifts,” “Tips” and the “TikTok Creator Marketplace” will be added to the existing monetization options. First and foremost, creative professionals will benefit from this. After all, this opens up new ways to profitably upload their own videos to the Chinese video portal.
Money earned no longer only with live videos
Previously, with the two ways of earning money, it was only possible to make money in the context of live videos. Alternatively, there was only money for those who could show a video with extremely high click numbers. With the help of the newly introduced “Video Gifts”, it is now finally possible to earn money with on-demand videos. The monetary gifts are also based on a similar principle to the “Live Gifts”. Here, users don’t just give away mere amounts of money. Instead, they symbolically donate diamonds. The accumulated virtual gems can then be converted into money at TikTok itself and paid out.
New tipping option
In addition to “Video Gifts,” there is now also the option for viewers to tip. Here you can choose between different amounts. With a choice of 5, 10 or 15 US dollars, you can then support your favorite producer. But TikTok puts a small bar on the giving of tips. You can’t give more than 100 tips per day. The maximum sum of all tips is therefore 500 US dollars per day. TikTok is supported by “Stripe”. This company has focused on Internet payments.
