Torch: ROCCAT introduces USB microphone

With the Torch model, ROCCAT has introduced its first studio-grade USB microphone. The peripheral brand, which belongs to the Turtle Beach Corporation, has so far been known primarily for its gaming mice and keyboards.

Microphone for professionals

According to the company, the USB microphone is designed for professional and semi-professional use in the field of streaming, gaming and other audiovisual production. Among other features, the microphone is equipped with 24-bit audio quality, latency-free monitoring and an integrated pop filter. The dual-capacitor device allows sampling up to 48 kHz, making it suitable for a wide range of sounds and voices – from whispers to loud screams, any sound produced should be transmitted in flawless quality.

Users can choose between three directional patterns on the Torch. Cardioid mode is particularly suitable for gaming and streaming, Stereo mode for recording vocals and instruments, and Whisper mode for recording particularly quiet voices. The device also wants to score points with an intuitive gesture control, which is supposed to allow interrupting the recording immediately without touching the device, which is supposed to have a positive effect on the recording quality.

ROCCAT also emphasizes the setting options directly on the microphone. There are control units in the style of a mixing console, which are supposed to allow quick making of all relevant settings. The equipment of the device is rounded off by an RGB lighting with three lighting zones, which can change their color depending on the selected recording mode, among other things, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Price and Availability

The new USB microphone is available now from the manufacturer’s online store, among other places. The called price is 99.99 euros.
