Manufacturer TP-Link has introduced a new outdoor surveillance camera with the TP-Link Tapo C420S2. It relies on a night vision mode with color, offers IP65 certification and a runtime of up to 180 days.
The TP-Link Tapo C420S2 in detail
With the TP-Link Tapo C420S2, a new outdoor surveillance camera awaits you, which is supposed to stand out primarily due to its affordable price and convincing image quality.
The surveillance camera is offered as a set of two cams. The cameras are IP65-certified waterproof and dustproof and can thus be exposed to wind and weather in outdoor areas without any problems. Since no cables have to be laid, the placement is very easy. In addition, you can reposition the cameras quite freely at any time. Of course, the C420S2 can also be installed indoors if desired.
It has a built-in AI processor that can detect people, pets, packages and cars on its own and notify you when needed. The cameras can also trigger sound and light alarms when motion is detected to scare away unwanted visitors.
Thanks to a built-in microphone and speaker, outward or two-way communication is also possible using the Tapo app.
View mode in color
Furthermore, the TP-Link Tapo C420S2 features a night vision mode in color along with a starlight sensor, which should provide a convincing image in the dark. The cam offers a 2K QHD resolution and therefore displays a lot of details.
The high-resolution videos can either be stored directly on the microSD card installed in the hub with up to 256 GB or via the cloud storage services from Tapo Care for later analysis.
Operation and setup is also done via app. In addition, the cameras are compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, making them easy to integrate into existing smart home setups.
Price and Availability
The TP-Link Tapo C420S2 surveillance camera is available now as a two-camera set from retailers such as Amazon. The manufacturer’s MSRP is 249.90 euros.
