Turtle Beach: Stealth 600 Gen 2 and 700 Gen 2 announced

As the manufacturer Turtle Beach has announced, the two new gaming headsets will appear in stores this weekend. The Stealth 600 Gen 2 and the Stealth 700 Gen 2 have been tailor-made for PlayStation 4 and the upcoming PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

The market leader is gaining ground

Turtle Beach has long been recognized as the leading manufacturer of headsets and other audio devices tailored to the needs of gamers. Now the company is introducing new products with the second generation of Stealth 600 and Stealth 700 gaming headsets. Both headsets are available either for Sony’s home consoles or their Microsoft counterparts. Their predecessors already enjoyed great popularity in the gaming community. They offered a high-quality look and great design as well as a juicy sound. Furthermore, they were comfortable to wear and guaranteed very good voice transmission.

Coordinated with the release of the new consoles

The timing of Turtle Beach couldn’t be better and is almost certainly no coincidence. After all, the release of Sony and Microsoft’s new home consoles is scheduled for the end of the year. Turtle Beach says that 2020 will be a historic year for the gaming industry. Considering the amount of AAA titles and console releases this year, this view is definitely understandable. Accordingly, the manufacturer is hoping to have a positive influence on the market launch of its next generation of Stealth 600 and 700 headsets. The further development of the already successful headsets was a matter close to Turtle Beach’s heart. Thus, the experts have paid special attention to a fluid wireless connectivity. However, sound and comfort were again the focus of their product development.

Stealth 600 Gen 2

With the new generation of the Stealth 600, Turtle Beach has given some upgrades. The audio experts have refined the headset’s spatial sound. Now, thanks to a reliable surround sound, it should be possible to locate enemies more easily. In addition, the Stealth 600 Gen 2 has a completely new microphone. The flip-to-mute microphone is not only larger, but now also offers greater sensitivity. This is intended to perfect chats in practice.

Eyeglass wearers will be pleased that the new Stealth 600 has even softer ear pads. This ensures an extra portion of wearing comfort. The two 50 mm drivers, which are located in the ear cups, provide the juicy sound. An audio preset button allows you to adjust the gaming sound if necessary. Turtle Beach wants to score points with its product-own “Superhuman Hearing”. Here gamers should be able to locate their opponent even better. While you don’t need any additional accessories for the connection to the Xbox, the PS4/5 requires an additional USB transmitter for wireless gaming.

Stealth 700 Gen 2

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 also comes with some nice upgrades. Turtle Beach has not only worked on the performance, but also on comfort and design. In terms of audio, the new headset should be able to score with crystal-clear surround sound. This is where Turtle Beach’s slogan comes in: “Hear everything, defeat everyone.” The new microphone is also larger in the new generation Stealth 700. In addition to higher sensitivity, it also offers the practical flip-to-mute feature. Once muted, the microphone disappears almost invisibly into the earcup of the headset. For the new generation Stealth 700, Turtle Beach uses comfortable Aerofit ear pads. These not only provide memory foam, but also contain gel-based cooling ingredients.

With the help of the Nanoclear 50 mm driver, the headset should be able to provide a great audio experience. The metal-reinforced headband provides the appropriate stability. The long-lasting battery provides for long playing fun. According to Turtle Beach, a total of 20 hours of gaming fun should be possible. You can use the Turtle Beach Audio Hub App for audio adjustments. Individual programming of the keys is also possible here. As with the Stealth 600 Gen 2, Xbox owners can also benefit from the practical wireless feature. If you own a PlayStation, you’ll also have to fall back on the USB transmitter.

Prices and availability

First and foremost, the Stealth 600 Gen 2 for PlayStation is to be launched. The headset can be ordered from participating retailers at a RRP of 99.99 euros from 16 August. The version for Microsoft consoles will be released on September 20 and should cost exactly the same. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 for Xbox and PlayStation will also be released on September 20. The premium headset is expected to cost a little more with a RRP of 149.99 euros.
