Following the AI NAS series in February, UGREEN is expanding its NAS portfolio with two new models for demanding users. With the DXP4800 GT and the DXP2800 GT, the manufacturer is launching high-performance network-attached storage systems on the market, which are designed to appeal to creative professionals, the self-employed and smart home enthusiasts in particular. In addition to fast 10 Gigabit connectivity, the new NAS systems rely on modern AMD hardware, flexible storage options and functions for continuous operation. This positions the new GT series as a powerful alternative to classic cloud solutions and existing NAS systems for home and professional use.
- New NAS systems with AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 processor
- Up to 144 TB storage capacity with the DXP4800 GT
- Dual 10 GbE ports for particularly fast data transfers
- Support for SATA, U.2 and M.2 storage solutions
UGREEN GT series is aimed at creative professionals and smart home users
With the new GT series, UGREEN is expanding its existing NAS range with more powerful models for users with increased storage, speed and reliability requirements. While the DXP2800 GT is designed as a compact 2-bay solution for up to 80 TB of storage capacity, the DXP4800 GT with four drive bays and a maximum capacity of up to 144 TB is aimed at users with particularly large storage requirements.
At the heart of both systems is the AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514. The quad-core processor with eight threads achieves clock speeds of up to 3.7 GHz and was specially developed for reliable continuous operation. This means that even computing-intensive tasks such as video transcoding, automated backups, Docker containers or multiple services running in parallel can be handled without any problems.
Another focus is on data integrity. The GT series supports ECC memory via optional ECC RAM modules. This technology can detect and correct memory errors, which is particularly beneficial for long-term data storage and business-critical applications. The combination of powerful hardware and error correction makes the devices an interesting solution for professional working environments and data-intensive projects.
UGREEN NAS systems offer high flexibility for modern workloads
In addition to computing power, UGREEN relies on a particularly versatile storage architecture. The new NAS systems support SATA, U.2 and M.2 drives, allowing different storage strategies to be implemented for archiving, media processing or fast data access. The drives are purchased separately, giving users maximum freedom in configuration.
The fast network connections play a particularly important role for creative professionals. The integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections enable high transfer rates and make it easier to work with large files such as 4K or 8K video material. The DXP4800 GT also offers an integrated SD card reader, which simplifies the direct backup of photos and videos.
The systems are also set to play to their strengths in the smart home. Applications such as home assistant, media server, document management or video surveillance can be operated centrally on the NAS. UGREEN is also providing a solution for managing surveillance cameras with its new Surveillance Center app. This supports common protocols and combines live view, storage and system management in a central interface.
All models are based on the in-house UGOS operating system, which is designed to enable simple setup and management. Within the UGREEN portfolio, the GT series is positioned between the more affordable DH models for beginners and the AI-oriented iDX systems for professional users.
Conclusion
With the DXP4800 GT and the DXP2800 GT, UGREEN is expanding its NAS range with two high-performance storage solutions for demanding home and business applications. The combination of AMD Ryzen processor, 10 GbE connectivity, ECC support and flexible storage architecture makes the GT series an interesting option for creative professionals, smart homes and the self-employed. The DXP4800 GT starts at an RRP of 659.99 euros, the DXP2800 GT costs 509.99 euros. At market launch, UGREEN is offering an introductory discount of 10% on both models.
