The UGREEN HomeAgent is a new local AI hub that combines NAS storage, video surveillance, and smart home control in a single device, without requiring videos or voice commands to be sent to the cloud. UGREEN unveiled the series alongside the high-end MasterAgent MA100 model and several MagFlow chargers as part of a pan-European product launch, marking its transition from a NAS and accessories manufacturer to the smart home business.
In a nutshell: With the HA100, HA100 Pro, and MasterAgent MA100, UGREEN is introducing three smart home hubs that handle AI analysis, NAS storage, and camera recording locally within the home. These are complemented by SynCare cameras, the smart speaker for the Uliya voice assistant, and the Gallery picture frames. Pre-orders are now open via the UGREEN store, and the actual Kickstarter campaign launches on October 27, 2026. Shipments are scheduled to take place in stages between January and July 2027; Home Assistant support is not yet available.
What exactly is the UGREEN HomeAgent?
UGREEN calls the HomeAgent an “Agentic AI Local Hub,” referring to a device that functions simultaneously as a NAS, a video recorder for security cameras, and a control center for the smart home. While other manufacturers typically handle facial recognition or the analysis of camera footage via a cloud server, the HomeAgent is designed to keep everything within your own network.
This is made possible by UGOS Pro, a completely new, Linux-based operating system from UGREEN. It combines classic NAS tasks such as storage management, backups, and synchronization with AI features for object recognition, voice control, and smart home automation. Anyone who has already worked with Synology DSM or QNAP QTS should quickly get the hang of the basic principles, even though UGOS Pro is much more tailored to cameras and AI than competing operating systems.
Privacy as a Selling Point, Not an Afterthought
UGREEN deliberately positions the HomeAgent as a contrast to the image of traditional security cameras. Rather than simply monitoring, the device is designed to help capture everyday moments that would otherwise be lost.
“HomeAgent proactively identifies moments that are truly worth remembering and compiles them for users in a personalized daily summary. We want to help families preserve the precious time they spend together.”
This also serves as a dig at the competition: security providers like Eufy have recently faced criticism for their lax handling of camera data. UGREEN therefore explicitly emphasizes that video and audio data are processed locally, with AES-256 encryption for stored data and end-to-end encryption for remote access. Initial hands-on tests confirm that this promise is at least noticeable in everyday use: Setup is said to take less than five minutes without any instructions.
Technical Specifications: HA100, HA100 Pro, and MasterAgent MA100 Compared
The three hubs differ primarily in their AI processing power and storage capacity. The following table summarizes the key specifications:
| Model | AI Performance | RAM | Storage Slots | Network | Price (MSRP / Super Early Bird) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HomeAgent HA100 | 26 TOPS (Rockchip RK3588 + accelerator card) | 16 GB | 2× NAS, 1× NVR, 1× M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x1) | 2.5 GbE | $1,799 / $899 |
| HomeAgent HA100 Pro | 205 TOPS (160 + 45 TOPS) | 32 GB | 2× NAS, 1× NVR, 1× M.2 (PCIe 4.0 x4) | 10 GbE | $5,999 / $2,999 |
| MasterAgent MA100 | 2,070 TFLOPS FP4 (sparse) via NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 | 128 GB LPDDR5X | 3× NAS, 1× NVR, 2× M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x4) | 10 GbE | $19,999 / $9,999 |
Noteworthy: Unlike UGREEN’s previous NAS systems, the HomeAgent apparently cannot be retrofitted with an external GPU via an eGPU enclosure. Another feature common to all three models is that storage and camera recordings can be neatly separated thanks to a 2+1 configuration, and smartphones, computers, and cloud services are automatically backed up. The basic concept is similar to classic backup strategies on a NAS, but with AI analysis on top.
Uliya, SynCare Cameras, and the Rest of the Ecosystem
At launch, UGREEN is integrating the HomeAgent into a complete ecosystem of accessories:
- SynCare OD800 Pro (outdoor solar camera): 4K main lens plus dual 3K zoom lens with 9x zoom, 10,000-mAh battery, 6-watt solar panel, PIR and radar detection up to 15 meters. Price: $199 instead of $339.
- SynCare OD600 Pro (PoE outdoor camera): 8-MP main sensor with dual 5-MP zoom lenses, powered via Power over Ethernet. Price: $159 instead of $269.
- SynCare ID500 Pro (indoor camera): 8 MP, 360° pan, 160° tilt, 940-nm night vision, also detects a baby crying. Price: $89 instead of $149.
- UGREEN Gallery: 13.3-inch picture frame with E Ink Spectra 6-color display, up to six months of battery life. Price: $299 instead of $439.
- Smart Speaker for Uliya: Four-microphone array for room-wide voice recognition, 5-watt driver with two passive radiators. Price: $69 instead of $99.
According to UGREEN, the cameras autonomously detect people, vehicles, pets, packages, and loiterers, and use AI to summarize events into searchable reports. Voice commands are processed through the in-house assistant Uliya, which is closely integrated with the Qwen3 language model but can also connect to cloud services such as ChatGPT if desired. At launch, supported languages include German, English, French, and Japanese, among others. Via Matter, devices from other manufacturers can also be integrated—for example, for DIY smart-home sensors that many users already have in use.
Pricing, Availability, and Kickstarter Launch
Pre-orders for the HA100, HA100 Pro, and MasterAgent MA100 have been open since September 4, 2026, via the official UGREEN AIoT Store. The pre-order period ends on October 27, 2026, when the actual Kickstarter campaign begins. Those who pre-order now pay a deposit of $50 (HA100/HA100 Pro) or $200 (MasterAgent MA100) and secure the “Super Early Bird” discount of 50 percent off the MSRP. According to UGREEN, the deposit is refundable at any time before the end of the campaign, and all devices come with a two-year warranty.
Delivery will, however, take several months: The HA100, OD600 Pro, and ID500 Pro are scheduled to ship in late January 2027; the HA100 Pro, OD800 Pro, Gallery, and Smart Speaker in late April 2027; and the MasterAgent MA100 and an additional LCD picture frame not until late July 2027. The products are expected to be available in the U.S., Canada, the EU (excluding Ireland and Lithuania), the U.K., Australia, and Singapore. UGREEN has not yet provided specific details regarding Germany, but given the EU availability, shipping to Germany should be possible.
Where There Are Still Issues
Aside from the open question of just how affordable the devices will actually be once the discount promotion ends, a few points of criticism remain: The HomeAgent currently supports neither Home Assistant nor Zigbee or Thread; connectivity to third-party devices is currently limited to Matter and ONVIF. Competitor Anker already supports Home Assistant with its Eufy line; UGREEN has yet to catch up in this area. Even with the discount, the starting price of $1,799 for the HA100 is still far from a bargain, especially since it’s unclear how much will ultimately be added for taxes and shipping to Germany.
Conclusion
The UGREEN HomeAgent shows where NAS manufacturers are currently headed: away from pure data storage and toward an AI hub that locally processes cameras, voice control, and automation under one roof. The privacy argument holds weight in an era of recurring camera scandals, and initial hands-on impressions sound promising. Whether it’s worth pre-ordering, however, depends heavily on how important Home Assistant support is to you and whether the steep starting price fits your budget.
