Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 and Hyperboom: New portable Bluetooth speakers unveiled

It’s booming again at Ultimate Ears, as Logitech’s sub-brand has unveiled several new Bluetooth speakers that are particularly small and designed for outdoor use. The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 and a new color for the Hyperboom will be available soon, after they updated the Boom and Megaboom to the third model generation back in 2018.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3

In the third generation of the compact Bluetooth speaker Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3, the manufacturer relies on 100 percent recycled materials. Sound-wise, the Wonderboom 3 wants to convince with a powerful 360° sound, while the battery is supposed to last for 14 hours. Charging takes about two and a half hours via micro USB port.

The maximum sound pressure level is 86 dBC (normal) and 87 dBC (outdoor mode). Two active speakers (40 mm) and two passive radiators (46.1 x 65.2) are installed. The speaker measures 104 mm x 95.3 mm and weighs around 420 grams.

Thanks to IP67 certification, it is protected from both water and dust and can also be used while swimming during late summer or autumn vacations. In addition, it is dirt-repellent, drop-proof and has a practical strap that additionally facilitates transport.

The Bluetooth range is said to be an impressive 40 meters, giving you more freedom. The new portable Bluetooth speaker from Ultimate Ears comes in Joyous Bright (gray), Hyper Pink, Performance Blue and Active Black colors.

In addition, up to two Wonderboom 3 can be paired to realize an even richer and more immersive sound, while a true stereo sound image can be created at the touch of a button.

Ultimate Ears Hyperboom

Also receiving an upgrade is the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom. The brand’s loudest and bass-heavy speaker appears in an all-white variant. Sound-wise, the manufacturer’s largest speaker features a high dynamic range with a frequency response of 45 Hz to 20 KHz and reaches a maximum sound pressure level of 100 dBC.

It also allows a mobile playback range of up to 45 meters via Bluetooth and is optionally charged via power cable, while it also charges a smartphone and other devices via USB. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery has a runtime of up to 24 hours.

In addition, the Hyperboom has two Bluetooth, one 3.5mm AUX, and one optical audio input for a total of four different signal sources, allowing parallel connection to multiple devices that can be switched between at the touch of a button. The HYPERBOOM’s adaptive EQ automatically detects the environment in which the speaker is located and adjusts the sound accordingly.

Thanks to its IPX4 certification, the speaker easily puts away splashing water from the pool or spilled drinks. Alternatively, the convenient one-touch music controls make it easy to play, pause and skip tracks directly on the speaker.

The Ultimate Ears BOOM app for Android and iOS also lets you create personal playlists, turn speakers on and off remotely, adjust volume, and more. Plus, the Hyperboom can be paired with other Boom, Megaboom or Hyperboom speakers here thanks to the PartyUp feature.

Prices and Availability

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 will be available in stores on August 31, 2022 at an RP of 99.99 euros. The Ultimate Ears Hyperboom in white will be released on September 09, 2022 at an MSRP of 449.99 euros.
