Ultrahuman has released Emerald, the biggest update in its history. The Ultrahuman Ring no longer just shows you numbers—thanks to the new “UltraSphere,” it now tells you exactly what you should do next. The update is free for all users and, according to consistent reports, has been rolling out globally since July 23, 2026—for both iOS and Android. In total, it includes over 15 new or revamped features.

Key Points at a Glance

  • UltraSphere: A “decision engine” provides over 60 specific recommendations for action rather than just raw metrics.
  • Ultra Age: Your biological age based on Pulse Age, Blood Age, and Brain Age—plus VO₂ max with approximately 21% greater accuracy.
  • Connections: Share sleep, recovery, steps, HRV, and—for the first time—cycle data privately with loved ones.
  • Availability: Free, available since July 23, 2026, for iOS and Android, with light and dark themes.

UltraSphere: The Next Best Thing Instead of Just Numbers

At the heart of Emerald is the UltraSphere, which Ultrahuman describes as the “world’s first wearable decision engine.” It reads your real-time metrics—including sleep, recovery, HRV, skin temperature, menstrual cycle phase, activity, stress, and glucose—and uses them to determine the one thing that makes sense right now: ten minutes of daylight to combat the afternoon slump, that last cup of coffee at 4 p.m., or dimmed lighting after sunset. Your location, the weather, and your circadian rhythm are all factored in.

Visually, the UltraSphere is a dynamic orb whose fluid interior changes in response to your biomarkers—ranging from green when you’re highly rested, through amber, to a deep red when your body needs attention. Convenient: The analysis is performed entirely on the device, so your insights are available even without an internet connection.

More Accurate Heart Rate and More Flexible Training

According to the manufacturer, new firmware delivers the most accurate heart rate measurement to date, which refines training zones and recovery metrics. You can get your live heart rate directly from the Ring or integrate external sources: Apple Watch, WHOOP, Polar, Garmin, a chest strap, or even the AirPods Pro 3. A new “Effort Picker” also lets you specify how a session felt—which is factored directly into your recovery score.

Ultra Age: A Focus on Longevity

With Ultra Age, the app compares your biological age to your actual age, based on Pulse Age, Blood Age, and Brain Age. The VO₂ max value has received a significant algorithmic upgrade and, according to Ultrahuman, has been validated against actual lab results rather than population averages. “Slow Your Aging” turns this into a concrete plan with strategies for turning back the clock. In addition, the “PowerPlugs” feature a live timeline showing when caffeine, vitamin D, or screen time best fit into your day.

Connections: Sharing Data with the People Who Matter

Another new feature is “Connections”: It lets you share your sleep, recovery, steps, and HRV with selected people—and, for the first time, your cycle data as well. You can compare your cycles side by side and see how you influence each other. Everything is kept private, just between you and your closest contacts.

Emerald strikes a chord: Smart rings—from Oura to Samsung to RingConn Gen 2 —have long been collecting more data than most users can meaningfully interpret. Ultrahuman turns the tables and turns the dashboard into a guide. Practical testing will have to show whether the recommendations actually hold up in everyday life—but it’s a step in the right direction.
