Velimotor VMX 08: Exciting dirt bike with e-motor

If you like two-wheeled jaunts but don’t fancy an e-bike, you should take a look at the Velimotor VMX 08. This is a motorcycle with a genuine e-motor. Thanks to carbon, the two-wheeler in crossbike look weighs just 47.5 kg. The top speed is correspondingly high.

Velimotor VMX 08 is featherweight underdog

The Velimotor company means nothing to you? Well, you’re certainly not alone. After all, it is a rather unknown company in this country, based in China. With the Velimotor VMX 08, the manufacturer now brings a promising, because powerful and featherweight dirt bike on the market. At first glance, it is not clear what exactly the all-electric motorcycle wants to be. After all, its design and technical specifications place it somewhere between an e-mountain bike and a real cross machine. This makes it the perfect solution for those who can’t decide what’s right for them. On the plus side of the Velimotor VMX 08, first of all, is the low weight of just 47.5 kg.

This is made possible by the fact that the manufacturer relies mainly on carbon, similar to the Urtopia Carbon One (test). The low weight also makes it easy for the e-motor (72 volts), which comes along with 8 hp, to accelerate to a maximum of 100 km/h. However, the maximum range, which the manufacturer specifies at 110 km, will not be reached with such a driving style. Rather, the maximum range should be possible at a speed of around 45 km/h. A 45 Ah battery provides the appropriate battery power for this. When and if we will see the Velimotor VMX 08 on German roads at all is still up in the air. After all, the manufacturer would have to retrofit a few points for this. For example, the two-wheeler could be launched as a light motorcycle in Germany. However, it still needs ABS for this.

Price and Availability

So far, there is at least the possibility to order the exciting dirt bike with electric motor online. Those who choose to import will have to pay just under 3,000 euros.
